2D Turn based strategy game. Time frame the game came out Not sure but i used to play it in the late 90s or early 2000s

It was very much like the TBS of lord of the rings in gba, i think the screen would change to show the attacker and the attacked. It wasn't quite sharp but was very colourful also we could change the colour of our units or something like that. Also we had a few units (possibly heroes?) the icon was of a chess board with red and black boxes also we could use some powers or something.
