Rome could be amazing. You could go to Egypt, Carthage, France... even Britain. I think it could actually be cool to mirror Ben Hur a bit-- have the protagonist start out in some small community on the outskirts of the empire that's being occupied by the Romans.

Japan or China could be cool, too. Or Persia, as mentioned up thread. I like the idea of getting back to something simpler, like the first game.

You've got to admit, it could make an unsual and interesting MMO. Then again, you'd need to have an absolutely massive gameworld to make it work, since crowded zones would really kill the atmosphere.

EA really needs to do an accounting and see if the money they save fighting piracy outweighs the lost sales and long term bad will this sort of crap generates.

Those dates listed by retailers tend not to mean anything, in my experience. If I had to take a guess, and this is pure speculation, I'd say November 2013,

They'd be smart to launch Free to Play, IMHO. It's been proven to be a good business model for MMOs, and it seems to be where the industry is going.

If you launch with a subscription and then go Free to Play soon after, it screams "failure", and a lot of people abandon ship.
