my new dsl sux..download is 4.05mbps...and the upload is .48mbps..how horrible is that? I came from charter cable and had great numbers..but this?? this just plain blows..

sorry..i have no real reason to post this..its just really depressing..hardly better than dialup to me..lol..

I had Comcast 12mb/s, averaged about 7 down and 2.5 up, about 15 ping. Worked well, all things considered. Now I have Century Link 7mb/s. I get about 2-3 down and 0.7 up with 80-150 ping. It's definitely a noticable difference but most of the time it doesn't cause problems. Probably wouldn't call it smooth though. Don't know anything about packet loss or jitter.

Rich with Centurylink Help here, - there are a couple of things that we can do to help configure your modem so it will perform with priority in reguards to gaming devices (something I have done so that my lag/game speed with COD & Battlefield game play was better). Plus it sounds like there is something more than the modem/router that is factoring in on your connection speed.
