Hey, I was just wondering which of these three laptops would be the best to buy. Thanks in advance

Also, since dell and asus don't list the mhz speed of their ram should it be assumed that they're 1066?

That is what I've had them in since I first built this computer, but I can't tell if it was a worthwhile move. I don't really have a knowledge of drive speeds and nothing to compare them to. So after I format I should still keep them in a RAID 0 setup through the software controller?

Okay, so if I only have access to a software raid controller through my motherboard it would be a beter option to just leave them separate?

So I'm about to format my drives (two velociraptors) and I was just wondering should I leave them in a RAID using the software controller that came with my Asus P6T Deluxe V2 or just leave them separate? I had them in a RAID setup before, but I dunno if it was a big improvement over leaving them separate. pros/cons appreciated.

Hey, so ever since I built this computer I've had this problem where no matter what program I'm in the computer will occasionally freeze up. Nothing shows up while this is happening, but the computer will still show things I've inputed (keystrokes and the like) after it's done freezing. It will go in and out of freezing up for about a minute and then it won't do it for awhile. I've also noticed while playing games that my fps is at 1 while this is happening. Should I assume this is a video card issue or could it be something else? I have an ATI 5870 and I always keep the latest drivers installed.

So my computer running vista 32 downstairs was messing up so I decided that I was going to format it and reinstall windows. All I had readily available was an XP disc so I decided I'd use that. After loading up all of the setup files it gives me a 00000007b error message and talks about how the disc may have bad sectors, a boot-sector virus, or a few other things. I tried to use dban to just wipe the drive but that just kept giving me "finished with non-fatal errors" so I tried killdisk. After realizing killdisk takes forever I just ended it but it had already wiped a good portion of the drive and the os is gone. Right now I'm running a program off cd to check for bad drive sectors, but if thats not the case does anyone have any other ideas as to what would be causing that error message?

hey, thanks for the info guys, I just don't know that sort of stuff. So I ran a HD benchmark test on the RAID0 and it came out to around a 174 mb average read speed although it dipped down to 60 at one point. Is that fairly normal?
