One of the very, very few games I might buy. I like relaxing when I play games. On one hand I've got Minecraft and Halo 4 Forge on the other I might explore GTA 5.
If OnLive Desktop and Gaikai are integrated into TVs I'll never buy a console again because all of the above is possible at no cost (or potentially a subscription fee).
Music is crucial in single-player. What's a character thinking? Music can tell you that. In multiplayer however you want to get the music out of the way. Sound effects are part of the gameplay but music is an emotional thing and multiplayer is usually no place for that.
Once the 3DS can stream it's games to a TV screen I'd begin to consider it. I've gone from a core gamer to a casual gamer. I have no intention of buying anything but an iPhone and that's $300. And it's more than just a phone and game system. It's my computer when I travel. Nintendo needs to be able to stream video to TVs ASAP and make it cheap. $150 is a start
I used to be a gamer. I sold my 360 today. My only gaming platforms are Wii, iTouch, and Mac. I'm excited for this future. There'll always be hardcore games, there just won't be 50 versions of Modern Warfare, there'll only be Modern Warfare, Halo, Uncharted, Gears, and Killzone. Good.
My only impression was that it was a smart, differentiating move for Nintendo. 3D visuals are a stand out in the market, especially for a portable. The timing was just right and the fact that Nintendo is still making it a DS of some sort is smart. WHY SHOULD THEY EVER RELEASE A DS2? No one expects Apple to release a sequel to the iTouch or iPhone, they just expect an upgrade every year. That's exactly what's been happening with the DS lately. It's Smart, all the customers stay in the loop and the newer ones get added benefits. The 3d visuals however should get some special attention (some special attention the DSi exclusive games didn't get)
I'm with Giancarlo on the thing about guns; I've hit my violence quota for the next decade. Sure I'll play Halos, Call of Duties, and Borderlands once in a while. But I'd MUCH rather play a game as a fresh as Mirror's Edge over Halo, if it offered compelling simultaneous multiplayer I'd be on even longer. World of Goo, Lost Winds 2, Flower, Monkey Island, etc. All of these games are crucial to me. If I'm going to be gaming in 5 years, when I'm 25, I better have a story that's more developed than MW2's. I'm not claiming to be grown up, I'm just saying they're giving us great gameplay at the expense of everything else. Great gameplay has been achieved, move on.
For motion and camera controls, I'd like to see breakdancing and real life interacting. For regular controllers make use of everything. For instance, offensive lineman. Left stick moves him, right stick moves his arms, left and right triggers determine how hard you hold the d-lineman's jersey with which hand. You get better control of them for holding down harder BUT you gotta make sure when you grab them the ref can't see.
