I've read a lot of backlash about this game that I didn't quite understand at first. That's mainly because I love the Burnout games the most of any racer and this fills my need for them in a big way. Of course I understand NFS fans don't want a Burnout clone but I sure did.

As I read some of the complaints I could say I'd agree with them but I discovered I'm no longer a hardcore gamer. I've moved into the casual gamer territory since I've gotten older and can only play 3-5 hours a week instead of 15-20. *sigh* Ah well. I can see where people would be upset at not earning cars and unlocking them but for someone like me I don't have 50 hours to spend to get the best rides or to pour through hundreds of parts to customize. That's not to say I wouldn't like them but this fits the bill for me.

I also have to laugh when people try to compare this game to realistic racing games when it's apples to oranges. People who like more arcade-style racers don't want the cars to feel insanely realistic, they'd rather drift around corners and do crazy things that wouldn't be possible. Criterion or no Criterion, NFS has always been more of an arcade racer than a realistic one a la GT or Forza.

I've never heard of this game until now but I can say since it's a traditional RPG I'm officially excited. :-D

I'm going to have to say no but that's because I just bought mine off Ebay for the reasonable price of $87. :-P There seems to be a lot of great games for it and I mainly got it for the rpg's.

I just ordered my first DS-Lite off of E-bay too, an Onyx one i think. Figure I'd just go in this topic since it relates to me as well. I've already got FFIII off e-bay for $11.50 and bought FFIV today but I also have to decide which Mario game to get (leaning towards NSMB since I have beaten SM64 with all 120 stars on the N64) and which Castlevania to start with. I'd gladly take any suggestions on the Castlevania one.

For me it was simple to choose between the two and I recently got a DS on Ebay. Why was it easy? Well, I need a classic rpg fix and not only do they have the remakes of FFIII and FFIV but there's the GBA backwards compatibility for V and VI. That doesn't even include Dragon Quest IV and Chrono Trigger later. Plus I'm a sucker for Mario and Zelda so that made it even easier. I have my 360 for shooters and console games and it's on an even bigger screen than PSP. It's all about what you are looking for in terms of games.

After reading the preview at IGN for Far Cry 2 I'd have to say that's up there. Also on my list of games I want now are Aliens: Colonial Marines and Grid.

Meh, no big deal. I'm not going to get it but for other reasons entirely since I'm 22 and have a full-time job. I get bored too easily with those games and don't have the time to pour a lot of hours into them. Since I have less time to play I pretty much stick to quicker games like DMC4 and FPS's or sports games so it's all good. My days of spending long hours at gaming are long over.
