I just want GameStop to get a test handheld in stores. I have no idea how the 3D effect is going to feel. I would like to know what I'm going to be blowing $250 on before the deal goes through.
Honestly, I'm just so pumped for handheld remakes/sequels of my favorite N64 games! Star Fox, Paper Mario, Mario Kart, OoT, and the new 3D Mario Platformer. That migh be the sole purpose for my future purchase.
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn was hugely underrated on GameSpot. They said that it was too difficult and unforgiving, had a terrible story, and had a bad beginning. Seriously? The game has an easy difficulty mode. I found the story to be very deep and imaginative. Finally, the game starts out with a beautiful CGI and a tutorial battle. What is their problem?
I don't know about you guys, but the 3rd boss from LttP was the most frustrating boss I have ever had to put up with. You remember the caterpillar guy, right? The cheap, larger version of an already annoying enemy? Not just the fact that he can easily knock you off of the platform so you have to constantly restart the battle, but the sheer inconsistency of the battle enrages me. The first time, I can get within one hit of defeating him then I get knocked off. Then for the next dozen tries, I don't even come close. Finally, after an hour of seemingly hopeless attempts and and a part of my soul dieing, I beat him without being touched. Where's the justice in that?
There are simply too few games these days that blow me away. FPS games replace innovation with superior graphics. Many RPGs use overly complex systems instead of strategy and compelling gameplay. I rarely find games anymore that I can simply mention their name and within an hour I'll find myself surrounded by friends not breaking eye contact with my television.
It's frustrating when I want to talk to my gaming friends and all they want to talk about is Call of Duty. JRPGs, 2.5D Fighters, Street Racing, Platformers, Shmups, and RTS games are all just as good. Also, Madden gamers aren't real gamers.
It seems that these days, all that people are talking about is CoD and the like. Does no one care about all the other great games (Full genres, even) out there?
