Um...I guess I'm bored

I'm so excited! I finished my exams yesterday! Woooo! I don't get the results for a while, but, hey, at least it's over. So, more time for TV and film watching. 3 months of holidays, to be exact. Yes!

Right now it is late at night and I am watching this movie called The Forsaken. It has Kerr Smith AND Brendan Fehr AND it had AJ. Buckley in a small role. How's that for CSI: NY/Miami fans, huh?! Boy, Kerr and Brendan are attractive. And they are playing such masculine, kick-ass roles. You gotta love it! Besides, Vampire movies are usually good fun, and this one is no exception. Mmmm...Kerr Smith has nice arms. Sorry, I got distracted. Where was I?

Apart from watching all the shows I love week by week, I've been stock piling some in case the strike lingers. Most notably Robin Hood. I mean, I admit it isn't the greatest show, but I, like many women, have been in love with Richard Armitage ever since I saw North & South. If you haven't seen that, you are SO missing out. If you even remotely liked Pride & Prejudice (the good mini-series with Colin Firth, not that travesty of a movie with Kiera Knightley) then you will love this. Then again, I loved the books of these. I am a massive fan of 19th Century romantic novels. There are other mini-series/movies I like in the same vein. Jane Eyre (2006), The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, Anne of Green Gables (The first two films are definitely superior), The Scarlet Pimpernel (either the Leslie Howard or Anthony Andrews version. Don't even mention the Richard E. Grant version), A Room with a View (1985), The Adventures of Robin Hood with Errol Flynn, Captain Blood with Errol Flynn, Doctor Zhivago (1965), Emma (Both 1996 versions), Ever After, Jane Eyre (1944), Little Women, The Mark of Zorro (the original one), Persuasion (1995, 2007), Pride & Prejudice (1940), Ruby in the Smoke (2006), Sense and Sensibility (1995)...Yeah, I know, it is quite a list. And that's only a small portion of my DVD collection. I haven't even started on Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Westerns, Rom-coms, Comedy, Musicals, etc, etc. If anyone has any recommendations, feel free!

Hmmm...Movie just ended. Kinda silly, I'll admit. But pretty darn fun, too!

I intended to write more but got kinda caught up listing all that stuff...

I guess I'll come back tomorrow. Right now I need to sleep!

More Ramblings on TV

Okay. Well, since my last post I have watched all the episodes of Moonlight, and I am really enjoying it. Sure, it's a little cliche. They are using all the stock story lines that you would expect. But they do it well, which is all that really matters. Mick and Beth do have great chemistry, especially in the quieter moments. Sure they got steamy in that shower scene, but I think they are better when they are really sweet with each other. It is also nice to have non-American stars for once, especially if one is an Aussie. Our film industry is so rubbish that it is a shame all our good actors and actresses leave, but it does give us a little more exposure. Anyway, back on the show...Jason Dohring. That guy is always great. Of course, I keep seeing him as Logan, turned into a Vampire, but as long as it is him, right?! I also have liked Sophia Myles for a while. I just pretend she never did Thunderbirds, and I focus more on the likes of 'The Abduction Club'. Cute film, that. But the only problem I have with the show is the forums on this site. I won't gripe about it where they can read, since they certainly aren't all bad. But they seem to have this obsession with Spoilertv.com that is very frustrating.

Moving on...

I wish that Sci-fi didn't have such a bad name. There should be more good sci-fi on TV. I watch Stargate: Atlantis, even though I'm aware that it isn't great, but I enjoy it. Firefly should never have been cancelled. Poor Joss. He's had a rough time lately, hasn't he? Firefly being canned by moronic executives, Serenity only just breaking even at the box office, being dropped off Wonder Woman, and the likes...I hope this Dollhouse thing ends up working for him, and for us. He deserves a successful career!

What some people don't seem to understand (but Joss does this so well, even though this isn't really about him) is that it should all be FUN. My b/f doesn't understand why I watch CSI: NY, rather than something like Law & Order. The reason is simple. CSI: NY, has romance, attractive young people for me to watch, and it is silly fun. I can giggle and grin stupidly and generally just act foolishly. I admit that the show is unrealistic and silly, but that's what I love. It is fantasy!

Anyway, I have to go do some exam revision/writing my NaNo.

New TV Shows of This Season

First post! I figure I should start talking about new things, so the new TV shows it is!

I adore Pushing Daisies. It is so wonderfully quirky and glossy and sweet. And every time Lee Pace smiles I get that wonderfully girly leap in my stomach. Goodness, he's cute! He and Anna Friel are so cute together, too. I don't know why she got so much flack on the forums, I think she's really good. Lee was great in Wonderfalls (a show cancelled well before its time!). And I saw this movie called Watermelon, with Anna and Jamie Draven (who is also very attractive) and it was a surprisingly good film. Mostly because those two were a very cute couple. Anyway, great show.

Reaper is another show I am very much enjoying. It is good fun. I love the exchanges between Sam and Sock. They are just priceless. Ray Wise as the Devil was an inspired piece of casting. I also think Ben is great. He should get more screen time. But overall, very fun show.

I also saw the first two episodes of Chuck. I remember thinking that the first episode was pretty good, and then seeing the first episode of Reaper, which was even better. Then the second episode of Chuck was a REAL letdown. He just turned into a really annoying character. Which is a shame. I'm sure I'll see the rest of the episodes at some point, and maybe they get better. I hope so.

I saw a little bit of the Journeyman pilot, which seemed all right. I did love Kevin McKidd in Rome. His character was what kept me interested in that show. I haven't seen season 2 yet, mainly because I am so depressed that his wife died. I cried so much after that.

Anyway. That was just a short post to get me started. The next installment will probably be about shows that I have loved for a while.
