2009, a year of changes...

Welcome 2009! This year should bring lots of changes, both personally and stuff that will affect the world! So here we go:

First of all, I decided to start this here blog. I mean sure, why not right? Might as well, everyone and their Grammas are doing so why not me? So I take the plunge, to those who will read this and actually flow up, thanks! I will try to entertain and at the same time, let you into my life a little. I was even interested in knowing how podcasts are made, that way I can actually get into talking about games and giving some my honest to goodness reviews, etc. More on that later, I guess it will all depend on how all this goes.

Oh, before I forget to mention, I think I am dyslexic, not reading or writing, mind you, but typing! For some reason, I type faster then I think so all my letters get jumbled. I find that I always mix up 2 letter of almost every other word. I don't know but I think it is getting worse. I will now type in unedited message so you can see what I am saying, I will now just type without looking at what I am typing just so you get a taste of the stuff I have been doing as of late: Here is the sentance that I wanted to tpye for you guys, Dont think that I am doing this on puropse this is just how I tpye when I dont look dowen at my kyes. See what I mean? I mean, I have been typing forever, but this dyslexic typing has been getting more out of hand lately.

Next topic. My New Year's resolution. This year, I plan to actually finish games that I start. If I have time, I plan to go back and finish the games that I am just in the middle of. This is an epidemic that has been happening in my world of gaming. I find myself more of a game collector instead of a game buyer. If there is a game that I know I will like, or I am a fan of, I must get it, the scary part is that most of the time, I must get it on the first day of release. The funny (?) thing is that, I play some levels, invest some time into it, then I get side-tracked with another release and sometimes never go back to that game again. Even if the game is total awesomness, I just don't go back to it. Time has a lot to do with it too; I just don't have the time I used to have to play these games. I do have a family and their idea of a good time is not watching me invest hours into a video game. Along with the issue of time, I just find myself losing interest fast. I don't know why, I just think a game is cool, and then I lose interest almost too fast! I have yet to finish awesome sauce games like GTA IV, Dead Space, Ninja Gaiden II, Lost Odyssey, Mario Galaxy, Zelda Twilight Princess, Persona 3 FES, the New Super Mario Bros, Super Smash Bros, etc. I start them, put them aside and that is that. I guess I'm getting old...:!

I think the topic that I will end this blog (rant) with is how different 2009 will be. We are on the verge of a new presidency taking over and hopefully this means brighter days for the US economy in general. I really do hope that he takes everything we are going through seriously and take the reins and start just kicking ass all over the place. There have been too many people, too many companies and too many lives affected because of the horrible economy, which bring me to my next change in 2009. The conclusion of EGM magazine. I have been with EGM for about 14 years now; it has been a big part of my life and as an avid gamer, a big part of my gaming life. The personalities of the staff, the funny comments and the awesome articles made that my favorite gaming mag. I felt like I knew all these guys (and gals) personally, like friends I knew for over 14 years. Then all of a sudden I read that a lot of the staff at 1UP were let go and that February 2009 will be the very last issue I will get to read. I say good luck to all those that were let go, you guys will be missed. This year will not be same without you.

There you have it, my very first attempt at writing a blog. I am not really sure if this is the correct way to blog, I don't really follow anyone's blog so I don't know the rules. I am not sure if there are guidelines and I am sure that I skipped around a lot. I will also make an effort to do this at least once every other week. I really can't promise more than that because of you do read this and look forward to other blogs I make; I want the content to be fresh and cool. I will try to make it more about gaming but I will sprinkle in little things that are going on in my life, just to try to relate to you, the reader.

If you do enjoy this type of thing, and you would like to see a featured topic or my opinion on a certain game or a game type, feel free to shoot me an email. ChickenHounk911 (at) yahoo (dot) com. Once again I thank you for reading through all this rambling and I will try to be a bit more organized for the next one. Take Care!
