I was a pretty active regular at the old MP3.com a few years ago. Recently, I heard that the "new" MP3.com was inviting independent artists to come back and put up their material. As I've spent some time here the past couple of days, it's nice to see the additions such as the blogs, and "add to favorite friends." I hope this place develops a postive community ... one thing I'd like is the ability to have some form of personal streaming media player, so I can play my playlist, just as I can at places like Rhapsody, Garageband.com, etc. That would be nice. I realize that only those who release their content for free would be a part of it all, but I'll take that.

Dig the chicks

I don't care about people's politics. That's what most radio programmers will tell you to your face. But in the case of the Dixie Chicks, this is a lie. The fact is, programmers do care about politics ... to the extent that if the people don't like what an artist says lyrically in person or in song, the pd won't play the record. That sucks. The new chicks cd stands out heads and tails over nearly everything else in the Adult Pop/Rock/Folk/Country vein right now ... but some people are so narrow minded they'll never get it. Too bad.
