@icekula @Divad222 @augmira Actually science supports the existence of God. God's existence can be seen but not proven by the universe beginning to exist, the universe's fine-tuning for life among others. See the Kalam Cosmological argument, Leibniz's Cosmological argument, and the Teleological argument among others.
@gohangeorge I agree. Most of the our founders were apparently Deists. If marriage no longer wants to be defined as between a man and a woman in our country and enough people are for it then that's fine. I think sometimes some people in the Church are too concerned about what is lawful or unlawful. Regardless, the Church will always see marriage as between a man and a woman and if we have to be jailed for that belief then so be it. Right now Christians have it easy while believers in other countries have to endure mobs, cults, and government authorities that want to stop them and/or kill them for their beliefs.
Read Romans for more context outside of just these verses but obviously homosexuality is not something that God approves of.
Romans 1:24-32
Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.
-But this is not a reason for Christians to be hateful to the LGBT Community. The church is made for sinners so everyone is welcome, not just the self-righteous ones (e.g. modern-day Pharisees). God hates sin but we're not here to judge, that's God's right, not ours. Take the stories of the prodigal son, the adulterous woman whom Jesus did not condemn; it's the same. We all have a problem with sin. We don't need to condemn but be an example as a man or women that loves God and loves their neighbor as ourselves.
