It's not true that everybody dislikes history. Although it's partially true for me... I can't stand my own country's history(America), but I love Japanese history.
I don't think it matters what version you have. You don't start with the opening edit, you have to unlock it.
In DW5 I unlocked it by playing 1 character from each army, which unlocks Lu Bu. Then I beat Lu Bu's story and then when I went into options I had unlocked it.
It may be less characters, but in defense let me say this, all of it's characters are unique where as in DW lots of characters look similar or have similar move sets.
Also your comparing the first game of it's series with a sequel(DW3, DW4, or DW5 most likely). The first DW of this type of game(DW2) didn't have as many characters as these new ones have, each game they add alot more characters.
You have to realize that DW didn't start with a boat load of characters, they added more as they made sequels. The same will happen in SW, each sequel will have more characters.
The next SW is going to have around 30 characters, that's double the ammount that was in the first. And the more games in the series the more characters will appear.

No he is hard, it's just that we have gotten skilled.
In vs. duels(DW4) I always triumph because of my fighting skills. But the people I beat have trouble with Lu Bu... they can beat him... but they have a hard time and barely beat him if they do beat him.

I feel the opposite about that... 1862 minutes and here is my 63rd post. I don't just use gamespot for posting though, I stay online and browse around the entire site looking at content and posts.
He used to strike fear into me back in part 3 before I got good at the game. You hear all those people screaming "oh no it's lu bu... ahhhhhhhhh" and it tends to make you worried about him when you had a weak character.
