Because the developers are actually creative and put effort into making the games varied and interesting.
Plus they don't follow the general outline of making things "dark and gritty" that we see so much now. In other words they use a bright color palette in their games :P.
Starcraft 2 and possibly God of War 3? There's plenty of others I can't think of at the moment. (Not sure about SC2, but Blizzard said they would make one frontline release a year. I'm guessing that's what they have planned.) Not too sure about GoW3, either. But it sounds likely.
MGS4 kinda sux. it would be the best movie on earth, and thats why it got AAAE, but it only has about 4 hours of play time, 12 hours movie and maybe 100 hours from online. =P
Eh, I don't doubt that prediction. But PC gaming will be alive when Half-Life 3 will be announced within the next year or so (I'm guessing) and Diablo 3/Starcraft 2 come out.
