Tie-in games don't HAVE to suck, but they usually do. I say give the next one to a company like Obsidian or Telltale Games, because those guys would really know how to use the universe and characters, and would have a good grasp on how to translate it into compelling game-play :). Also, the Star Trek game was't really that bad, it was a competent shooter, once bugs were fixed.
If they set the game in Detroit, it would save them a lot of work, because they could just model it exactly as the city is now, and noone would know the difference :).
