Honourable Mention

Hello everybody its me again. How have yours lives been going? Mines slow as always. This post will be about games that I believe that deserve honourable mention, and should be looked at. These are some of my favourite games and all of them I have either finished or have gotten part way through.

Little Big Planet

One of the best games EVER made for the PS3, bringing back the old sidescroller type of game, like the old super mario series. In this great game you play as the rascally Sackboy or Sackgirl, who are totally customizable. You run, jump and swing through story driven levels where you try and catch the collector, who is stealing things from all over little big planet. Now, after you have beaten this game (or whenever you want to) you can build and then share your own levels. This is quite fun just to goof around and make random levels where if you or your friends make a mistake they will go "boom" for example. If you have this game I suggest you try the worlds fastest sackboy online level. It is absolutely hilarious once you get some friends together. P.S it has a blue car looking thing on its cover. Multiplayer is the best feature in this game. When you get 4 sackboys and girls running around trying to smack each other so that they can get the top spot... priceless.

For an overall great game 10.

Avalon Code

Now this DS game is unlike no other. Instead of actually trying to save the world, it is already doomed. So your job is record all of the things worth bringing to the next world. As the chosen one you use the book of prophecy to record things. Now say a goblin is very strong and can easily kill you. You can wack him with the book and then change its code so that it is sick making it weak. The Book can also do this with characters in the game. For example by placing different codes down around the lets say and Illness you can cure them and they will be healthy instead of dying.

For its interesting concept and gameplay 8

And finally I have one of my favourite games as my friends know quite well...

The World Ends with You

Twewy for short centers around the at first bleak Neku. He is stuck in a game where he must survive 7 days so that he can be "reborn" in the real world. Through the game you see him gradually change become a caring person. Now this is one of the most unique games i have ever played. Stuffed with new ideas like 24 hours eating method(one bite per hour), double screen gameplay and its wide variety of uses of the lower screen. The gist of this game is while you fighting noise. At first this is overwhelming (i know by experience) because you must , depending on the "phych" you are using there is a different type of action you must do to activate it, as well as use the directional buttons to attack on the top screen. The game introduces this in a way that gently eases you into it so that you can take hold and get it quick. The only aspect that this game lacks in is its multiplayer. It does have the tin pin minigame, but other then that there is nothing for multiplayer which was a let down for me. Even with hat though it still blows the standard of games out of the water.

A perfect 10

Well until next time, hopefully i will have a review or 2 by then so lets keep our fingers crossed! :D - Church232

"I Am Justice" - Light Yagami, Death note

Foreign Games and such

Death Note

I have recently because of a friend, have gotten into a new anime/manga series. said series is Death Note. This is a manga about Light yagami and his life after he comes to posses the "Death Note". The Death Note is a book that when someone's name is written in it, that person dies. After seeing both the real action movies and reading the manga of the same name, I can say that I thouroghly enjoyed it and i wish that others will now become interested.

This got me thinking, are there any games that are based on Death Note? Surprisingly there are...but in Japanese.

Jump stars series

Now there are some great games that have been made in Japan and haven't been released in North America. one of the most interesting I have foudn was the Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars. These are fighting games that includes something from various manga created by Shonen Jump. Some of these series are: Naruto, Bleach, Dragon Ball z, and One Piece. In the game you organize your usable characters on the bottom screen in what looks like a which your characters are shown on the bottom screen of the Ds, in what looks to be a comic panel. Its got a totally customizable deck system so you can mix and match characters and special ablities from different series to make an all star team. This I find extremely fun and takes some careful planning because you want to have a well balanced deck so victory is insured.

For different apporoach to gaming 9.5

Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2

Another game of interest is Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2. Now this is the game that inspired Elite Beat Agents in North America. Its only difference is it has more songs. Its gameplay is similar to that of EBA where you tap the circles in order to stay in the Yes zone. From successfully taping combos u get more points and a better outcome.

For its rymthic rock, 8

I hope I have hooked you guys onto a new manga, if you enjoy them and have enlightened you on some foreign games.

Blast From The Past

Today's blog is all about video games that have come to past on one of the best of the older consoles. I'm talking about the N64. I will talk about 3 different games and how they are something special. So here we gooooo!

Super Smash Brothers

Star Fox 64

Road Rash 64

Now each of these games has their ups and downs but all hold a place of their own on my N64 shelf now here is why...

Super Smash Brothers

The game that started the great series that has given us such great games like Melee and Brawl. It is still by far, one of my all time favourite games. Maybe because of its simple mechanics or because of its great multiplayer. SSB can be summarized as a beat-um up game with all of your favourite Nintendo Characters. Even if the fighting section isn`t your thing there are two different challenges for the mind. The board the platforms and the destroy the target portions help to make it a well rounded game.

As well as great single player it has an even better multiplayer. With up to four of your friends fighting at once it can really get competitive. This is really the base of the game, since the single player has no real storyline from defeating master hand. None the less its a game that started a great line of sequels and should be treasured.

A perfect 10

Star Fox 64

Who could possibly forget star fox 64? Known for its single player action rather then its multiplayer, has hundreds of different story mode variations. These alternate routes that finally lead up to Andross, are achieved through gaining high scores and helping out your team when they are in a jam. The main vehicle is a Star Fighter which looks like a modified jet, as well as a tank and a submarine.

For its great story I give this game a 9.5

Road Rash 64

Now, this game wasn`t the most popular, but who can resist smashing up your competitors and even kicking them into on coming traffic. Now who could resist that? But what really makes this game fun is its multiplayer. Smashing up your friends in a sick game of tag, is very rewarding. When you chase each other around one course that is a giant circle., some may even take it to extremes like smashing themselves into a poll to die just so that they won`t be it. I know from experience:P. Even the odd messed up situations the riders gets into are extremely funny.

For its humorous gameplay a 8.5

Now that we have had a blast from the past, I hope I have enlightened you on some games that deserve some credit.
