Sadly, no. The old hardware for the older handheld stuff like the link cable for the GBA doesn't work. The reason is of course is that the DS is completely based around the use of wireless and wi-fi connection. So if you ever needed to trade anything that's based on a GBA game, then you're going to need to buy a GBA system.

Honestly, I do believe that the new PSP will boost Sony's handheld sales a bit, but it doesn't seem to promising. The only people I could see getting the new PSP are those who already havethe older PSP, or those that are thinking about getting one. As far as newcomers to the handheld, it's going tobe the DS all the way.Sure, it does come with some improvements and new features, but the bottom line is that it's still a PSP. Plus to add insult to injury, we all realize what happened to competitors that tried to get in on Nintendo's almost monopolistic hold on the handheld markets... they died.
