Overall it was pretty weak year in my opinion .
I am NOT going to rank this game lower because "it's another Assassin's Creed" . I hated AC3 but this game deserves to be GOTY . Before that , Shadow Warrior was my GOTY . Black Flag's campaign was long and contained overwhelming amount of features , great visuals , huge open world , unbelievable production values and very high replay value . Much more impressive than linear so called AAA games that got so many GOTYs .
When I finished Wings of Liberty, I thought it is going to be hard to make sequels/expansions this good, let alone better. Fortunately, Blizzard proved me wrong and went even further. Heart of the Swarm offers more mission variety, better art, more crispier visuals, stunning environments and high production values. The game features one of the best level designs I've ever seen in a game. Blizzard delivers again.
Didn't think the game needed a reboot but they rebooted anyway . Apart from no exploration elements , overall game was pretty good and I really loved it .
My GOTY before I played Black Flag . Easily the best PC exclusive and most underrated game of 2013 . Should've weapons limit , auto regen health , iron sight and dumb AI to be praised by mainstream media . It was the best reboot of old school shooters ever and also had great storyline (along with fast paced , fun gameplay) which was really a surprise . The game also had the most badass protagonist of 2013
Exceeds its predecessor in almost every way . Great atmosphere and cutting edge visuals are combined great gameplay .
The main reason why we play games is to be entertained . A game doesn't need to be serious and this game proves it . It is fun game with lot of easter eggs and never takes itself too seriously . One of the most funny games ever .
The best point and click adventure in recent years . Visuals are beautiful , UI is great and storyline is one of the best in video games .
Doesn't bring anything new to the table but at the end of the day , it is a fun shooter with stunning atmosphere and great storyline . Would've loved it if it was a bit more fast paced . Sometimes it felt a bit console-y .
May not be as good or as scary as first one was but real horror of the game was in its dark storyline , told masterfully by developers .
True Resident Evil and another underrated game of 2013 . Yes it got 8.5 on 3DS in 2012 but 2013 version on PC and 7th gen consoles got 6.5 here on gamespot . Why .? It is the same game and much better than RE 6 .
