I bought Xbox 360 because:

• It was a lot cheaper than the PS3
• Better online than the PS3
• Better games than the PS3 (Perfect Dark, Halo, Forza,ect.)
• More of my friends owned Xboxes than PS
• Owned Xbox before and was satisfied with it

its actually is possible to get 1080p from component cables and the 360 does output 1080p over component. Some TV manufactures do not support 1080p over component. This is because of HDCP standards I believe. I know because I had a BENQ monitor that displayed 1080p over component from my xbox fine now I have panasonic plasma that displays nothing when I have my xbox set at 1080p using component I must use 1080i. I heard samsung TVs allow 1080p over component, not sure though. read this however as it says you must have the correct component cables in order to get true 1080p. Yes Samsung TV's do allow 1080p over componant. I have a 52" Samsung LCD and the 1080p works fine.
