Well if you're a darkmoon, people literally cannot indict you. Most people don't indict anyway from what I've seen. Don't know why it'd matter much though, the Book of the Guilty is really just a "Book of the Biggest Douchebags". It's just another meaningless leaderboard, so don't worry about it and just have fun testing your skills against others.deershadowNo, the idea was that you try to get as much indictments as possible so that you could be invaded by and fight the other high-tier players going for the top of the list. Indictments have nothing to do with being a douchebag.
Its based on what kind of weapon you use. When you look at a weapon stats, you can see four stat modifier icons at the bottom, for Strength, Dexterity, Magic, and Faith. They are ranked from E to A (I don't think there is S in this one), or they have a "-" instead. A weapon with say, an E in Dex, means it gains a small amount of bonus damage from your dexterity score. While a C or a B gains much more bonus damage. A weapon that has "-" for a stat means it doesn't gain any bonus damage from that stat. Some weapons can have stat bonuses for more then one stat, like gaining damage from both dex and str. So, you should look through some weapon lists on the wikis and see what kinds of stats the individual bows use. I'm not sure of the enchantments bows can get, but many times enchantments remove stat modifiers (like lightning or fire- it'll take away any stat modifiers on the weapon). Overall, bows are not as strong as they were in Demon's Souls. I haven't tried to use them seriously. by my observations stat scaling isn't as good either... just get enough strength/dex to use the weapons you want and rely on strong enchantments instead, putting the rest of your stats into endurance and health. I wouldn't try to go into PVP if you are limiting yourself with RPing, but you can try. Nothing to lose really.Working on a ranger, what skills affect your bow damage? Is it Dex or Str? Also going for a buckler and dagger or sword and dagger for my secondary, will this be a realistic loadout to play and enjoy the game, without having to break roleplaying and pulling out some sort of bastard sword and massive shield? Also is ranged even feasible for PvP?
Also any general tips for a ranger character would be helpful, thanks all.

I, too, only play game based on their budget. BlackopsBlackopsBlackops!I havent seen such a bad designed game or such lousy controls in a game for at least 15 years. The graphics are the least awful and the keyboard-mouse controls are impossible.DONT buy this game until a patch or something

So once you hit max level you... what? Go back to low level areas and... get what for it?Sorry to break it to you, but everything is there from the start so you don't need to waste dozens of hours doing tedious garbage to get to the actual game. So sad :(
