Is the hard drive (the one with your swap file) mostly full and/or really fragmented?
Is your video card getting really really hot? For a while I had a 7950GT that kept overheating and, according to the nvidia utility, "needed to be reset". resetting was pretty infrequent, but each time would result in a 5 to 10 second hanging of the game.
Does it happen in any other games, or source games alone?
Also, what do you mean by "1.87 GHz Performance Rated at 4.90 GHz"? That sounds like something a salesman would say. :D

This ONLY happens with source games!!! I play the SIMS 2 and stuff and get NONE of those problems

Um I deleted the css folders and stuff and it still continues to do those slow downs. I even totally delted the valve folder and sitll had problems... but yea I have norton and **** in the backgorund but I never had anyproblems .. but yeah tonight I'm gonna defragment my harddrive... hopefully that helps!! Thanks guys!

Umm like when ever I play css it tell me to download the latest version of my graphics driver...But I know I installed the lastest one because I downloaded it 1000 times!!! but lets say i click on Half life 2 .. it doesn't even tell me I have a outdated driver

dude the manual says don't leave the batteries inside the controlers when on a plane cuz its messes up the communications on the plane so when you bring your controller dude, take out the batteries!!!
