There was a eurogamer preview on the weekend, it does have some minor spoilers that I had to skip over. I wanted to share this paragraph cause it seemed important:
Anyone who's familiar with the series - and any less than a rabid fan - will know that this is a mixed blessing. You have to put up with a lot to appreciate the fruits of Kojima's very personal and stubborn brand of auteur genius. This was never more true than it is of Metal Gear Solid 4. You have to subvert or repress many of your natural gaming instincts to safely negotiate its coldly exacting gameplay, and you have to leave the pad untouched through hour after hour of exposition and sermonising in cut-scenes and codec conversations. The latter take up a quite staggering proportion of the game's length; think the infamous MGS2: Sons of Liberty, and you won't be far wrong.
Like we heard before, this game will have a lot of cutscenes. I know its the last game but I was hoping for a more MGS3 style story integration than long scenes where you do nothing. Well at least in this game there are sections where you get to interact with the world during the scene.
I have a feeling this game is going to get hurt badly in the reviews because of the cutscenes.

In my opinion it doesn't matter at all if the game gets low ratings.
It probably will get some bad reviews, just because this isn't a game for everyone. I love the fact that we get to see many cut scenes, because the reason I love MGS so much is because of the story.
This will be the final Metal Gear Solid, and it looks like Kojima is making what he wants to make, to the fans of the franchise.
Sure it will get great reviews, but also a lot of bashing, that's just the way it is.
