There have been many speculation as to what the controller will be. There has been much aggrivation over the fact the most of the topics on this board (including this one!) are about 'what uis it?' Well, for one thing, if you don't want to hear these constant questions, then why come to a board dedicated to a machine that we have mostly no idea about? DUH, PEOPLE ARE GOONA ASK!!! But anyway, I have two theories about the Revolution and its controller and here they are.
Theory 1- Have We Been Fooled?: OK, Nintendo has always been one to sneak things around us that were in front of our faces the whole time. So, what's to say they aren't now? They have already said that the creativity of the DS is nothing compared to this new machine, so why would it have exactly what the DS has? Perhaps the real revolution is NOT in the controller and that is what Nintendo wants us to think. They showed off the machine at E3 and made us want to see the controller. Perhaps the controller is nothing and the machine actually has something wonderous about it. What might it be? Don't ask me. This is merely a theory.
Theory 2- More Beliveable Than The First: Now, even though Nintendo has always sneaked things that we never expected into our hands, they have also slowly gotten us ready for its upcoming new technologies. For example, giving the GBA a sleeker dual screened look to get us ready for the DS or giving the 64 rumble packs to gear us up for the built-in ones of the GameCube. Now, let us look at the signs here: Touch screen on the DS, sudden interest in gyroscopes for motion sensory in GBA games, and constant speculation on pressure-sensitive buttons... hmm... for my theory, I think the controller will look something like this: imagine the GameCube controller except stetch out to the side to about the width of a PSP, now imagine the PSP screen in the middle where the start button should be. Now make that screen a touch screen. I think the controller will look like this, except it will be wireless, pressure-sensitive buttons and gyrospoces. Nintendo has always been one for connectivity so how could they NOT let fans play DS on the big screen or NOT let yus play WarioWare: Twisted on it? Simple, by adding the touch screen on the controller, the top screen of the DS can be displayed on the TV while the bottom screen is larger and on the controller. The gryoscopes are built in, plus the pressure buttons. Now, what would possibly make this a revolution? Well, perhaps the touch screen could be pressure sensitive? Or maybe no buttons at all, just touching so that when you play your old NES games, the buttons of the NES controller show up. Who knows?
