Too short?

I just finished Timesplitters: Future Perfect.... in one setting, and it took me around 6 or 7 hours.... I don't know about you guys but that seems a little short even though there is other features. Online and arcade is all fine and dandy but still it just seems a little cheap, especially when the story mode was so good.

Then again, new movies in Denmark cost around 32 American dollars while new games cost around 62. I got Timespitters for 18 bucks so it still has better value then if I bought a movie.

Time, precious time!

In my opinion, time is the worst enemy and best friend of any person who plays games. If you have a lot of time to spare, you can really let loose and do nothing all day but play games, or watch movies or what ever else you want to do.

On the other hand, if you don't have alot of time it can really, really bother you since you obviously can't do the things you want. I know from personal experience that if you want to finish a game and just don't have the time because you have to go to school, work what ever, it can be quite annoying. You may just feel like playing it all the time, or you keep thinking of it when you should be doing some thing else.

Obviously there isn't a easy solution to this problem. The only one I can think of is quiting your job or stop going to school etc., which aren't really options. You can't just quit your job just because you really want to play a game. Though this hasn't stopped people in the past. Neither can you really stop going to school, since you obviously have to get some sort of education else wise you can't afford new games, or food but that isn't that important.

In the end, I guess the only solution is to either quit playing games that much, or just play when you can. Unfortunately neither solution is that appealing, but in the modern world that is a pretty common thing I guess.

KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords

Just finished Star Wars Knighs of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords. And I am both disappointed and happy with the ending.

I am happy, because, now it is done. I have complete the game and I have seen a lot.

I am disapointed, because there are so many questions that are left unanswered, and I didn't really get a sense of closure with. What I mean that is that you kinda feel that you just lost some friends when you have completed the game, since you have fought and helped these people (or hurt, depending on how you play) and suddenly you are just suppose to throw that out the window when you know there is so much more that could be done?

I normally don't get so attached to characters in games, as I have done with these, but I think it is because I didn't get to spend any where near as much time with them as I wanted and I never to resolve all their problems. I felt that this was much better balanced in KOTOR 1 and it gave me a better sense of closure.

Still though, good game. Not as good as KOTOR 1 but still good. Looking forward to the third one, if they are gonna make one.

Wow, done already.

A little story time here. alot of my friends, and my little brother bought WoW after it came out here in Europe, and ever since they have tried to convince me to buy it so that I can play with them.

So after one and a half years, I finally cracked.

Maybe it was because I wanted to talk to my freinds even though we are on our summer break. Maybe it was because it was pretty cheap, maybe it was because I just wanted to try it. Which ever it was, I got it, and have been playing it for the last week and a half.

And I am getting a little tired of it.

I started a Taraun sharman and got him to level 20. Then I, together with some of my friends, started Alliance characters on a different sever. And it is beginning to get a little boring.

Maybe it is just a short phase, but I did get a lot of gaming time out of it, around 29 hours.

Over 100 games and counting!

Well, truth be told I was gonna write this when I got 100 games, but unfortunately that was during my exams, I think, so I didn't have any time to do it.

Anyway, I now have over 100 games, and more are coming. It defiantly feels like a milestone for me since it is quite a few games. I will probably get a lot more as time passes on, though I try to take it a little easy now. I do have a feeling, however that my collection will increase dramaticly when I buy some consoles, no matter which ones I buy.

The PSP, a failure as a gaming platform or a success as a movie player?

There has been a lot of talk about the PSP lately... or since it was released until now actually, a lot of it bad.

First I must strees that I like my PSP. I like my PSP because it is as strong as a console and the potential for deep and great games on it are limitless. Which is also one of the reasons I am writing this.

Now on to the real issue, is the PSP becoming a portable movie player instead of a portable gaming console? In my opinion, no it isn't. People have been saying this because there haven't been that many great games after the launch and until now. However movie studios have been jumping all over the UMD format releasing all new movies and a lot of classics to it. Going to a EBgames or other stores that sell PSP games and seeing at the shelf for the PSP games and see the many movies and few games. Couple that with strong sales of movies on the PSP and people put two and two together.

Now the problem with this logic is, people like to watch movies on the go, and a lot of movie fans don't mind buying their movies again on a new format when the price is right. Now while there are many great series and films out on the UMD format right now, the selection of great games isn't as big. The PSP did have a great launch however after that the new games weren't that good. So naturally people went after the second best thing, movies and series on UMD. Of course there is also the fact that a movie maybe takes two maybe three hours while a game can take over ten hours, not counting taking replay value.

Now this has lead a lot of people to think that movies will over take the games as the primary function for the PSP. People like to predict that the PSP will die as a gaming platform because of this and think that it will primary be a movie player. This simply isn't true, there are already many games out like GTA:LCS and Socom: Fireteam Bravo, and a lot of up coming games. These games won't just disappear and never come out, they will come out and if they are good they will get great sales.

Bottom line I doubt the PSP will become a movie player instead of a gaming platform. The PSP is a multimedia device with games as the primary function, and a lot of great games are coming out. And as soon as good games come out again people will begin buying them and people will stop saying that the PSP is a dying gaming platform.
