Now if they could just roll out some form of software-based PS1 or PS2 emulation for the PS4 or PS5. Even if it was just some sort of open beta we could opt into, in order to help with collecting compatibility information.
@walbo: It came out last year that Joey Cuellar, the co-founder of EVO, had sexually harassed a number of teenage boys, leading to the cancellation of last year's Online EVO, and a bunch of fighting game publishers cutting ties.
It's good to see that Evo will continue without the presence of a sexual harassing jerk, allowing the tournament to be a welcoming place for competitors of all gender identities.
Hopefully Sony recognizes the importance of Evo as a tournament beyond just brand recognition, and doesn't decide to, for example, further diminish Killer Instinct, Smash or other fighting game franchises that are exclusive to non-Sony platforms, so Evo can be a safe and inclusive space for members of those communities as well.
Yes, because their depiction in Red Dead Redemption 2 is the thing that will destroy their reputation, not having dropped hand grenades on striking miners from airplanes, infiltrating and spying on unions, assassinating striking rail workers (I could go on for days).
@GarGx1: Absolutely. I don't see this system necessarily having any particular effect against harassment by PKing - unless controls are put in place so, for example, if you get PK'd without engaging 10 times in a row within, say, 1-2 hours, you stop dropping your junk or something.
Because, otherwise, I could see this system being used to drive people from the game through systematic harassment, with the Fallout 76 equivalent of Goonswarm rolling into an area, and repeatedly PKing any players who step into their area (or who they decide they just don't like) until they go elsewhere or quit the game.
As far as Game of the Year deliberations are concerned I will say I like how Giant Bomb handles their deliberations, by being open and transparent about it, by recording their deliberations as a podcast, and having individual Game of the Year lists on top of that - so you have what the site writers have chosen as their GotY, and what the writers in particular liked, so if there's a writer whose tastes mesh better with yours, you can get an idea what games that came out this past year would be really good (especially if you can't afford to play everything).
What I'm wondering is, if you already own these games as PS2 Classics on PS3, do we have to re-buy these full price, will you just get them for free, or do we get a discount?
