Gooeykat is right. Gamespot loses serious points for somehow "forgetting" to benchmark the Phenom II against the Intel I-7s. I quote "forgetting" as Gamespot probably took a payoff from AMD to write this article. Message to Gamespot: Journalistic integrity might not mean anything to you, but it means something to me, and with each return visit to your webpage I find an increasing void of honesty in your publications. All the people asking for comparisons for 64-bit or for SLI, or quad cores, etc are missing the point. Those things do not make the actual image clarity sharper. They make the game run faster, and you'll be reading about them in articles that discuss frames per second and load times, not in articles about image comparisons.
The only reason I got my 8800 GTS 640mb is because it was a faster GPU with more ram at faster speeds than my Radeon X1800 was. Vista is a stable operating system that looks and runs smoothly, but it is just not cut out for gaming... yet. And because Vista is such a horrible bottleneck for systems, you know what that says about the benefits of upgrading to DX10....
Sorry for the double post, but I figured it out.. the MP zombie game I was thinking of is Left 4 Dead. I really hope They Hunger gets released though... I love Single player zombie adventures (the original They Hungers all rocked).
They didn't even mention two games I thought they probably would: 'They Hunger' for HL2 and that other multiplayer team-based zombie game that is supposed to come out. Does anyone remember what the name of that team-based MP zombie game is called? I've been searching around all morning trying to remember the name so that I could check out the latest developments. Speaking of developments, They Hunger looks to be either a dead project or on the back burner... It was labelled 75% complete almost 3 years ago.. :(
