I play Motorstorm with a 512k connection with no lagging at all. I connect to the US West or East lobbies; for some reason the connection to US Central lobby seems to be slower.huriona

Hello,

Is PS3 online gaming feasible on a 512kbps connection ?

If someone here happens to play/have played online on PS3, with a 512kbps connection, please share your online experience, what games do you play (mostly interested in REsistance, Warhawk, and Motorstorm), and if there's lagging.

Thanks

Are you satisfied with the graphics ? Or they just look as if you're playing PS2.5 ?

I mean all these talks about hi-resolution pixel porn ... what about those who don't own HDTV's ? Are developers taking these into consideration ?

Of course I will not. But i do live in the middle east, where average connection speeds are 128-256K, so it will take more than one session to finish an average 700 mb game demo.

And sometimes electricity is unstable so it just deconnects. I guess i'll solve this by plugging my (future) PS3 to a UPS.

Thanks for answering btw, and if someone can confirm whether firmware updates are resumable, that'd be great.

Cheers.

Hello, i'm really considering to buy a PS3 in the near future, and i have this question about downloading :

When downloading a demo / firmware update / game etc. via PSN, are the downloads pausable and resumable, or they have to happen in a row ?

Furthermore, if, for some reason, the machine is abruptly turned off during download, is the download resumable too in this case ?

Cheers.

Favourite parts from this "analysis" :

For all that innovation in the PS3, one thing didn't change: the controller, that handheld mess of buttons so confusing to non-gamers.

Makes me wonder if the dude has ever bothered picking up a controller and actually playing a videogame, before preaching what's suitable and whatnot for "non-gamers"

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the Nintendo Wii costs $150. We regret the error.

Woooooooo ! Rock on, CNN. It's not even an accurate financial article, for the matter.

Very scientific and economical laden article, with terminologies like "gee whiz features" , "you just swing the controller", among many other gems.

And newsflash : No "swinging" is required when simulating boxing. To simulate a straight punch, you neither have to swing your wiimote horizontally, nor vertically. Perhaps if someone tries that on your face, you'd realize how retarded was your depiction of wiimote's accuracy in recreating a boxing match. Doh !
