I wonder if there's anyone out there that considers revision anything other than a chore. I'd like to meet them and educate them.
That aside, are there any anime fans as well as gamers here? I seem to have found a hitherto unexplored place of fun within Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist...anyone? And Advent Children - wow! They're great, but sound goddamn rubbish dubbed with english - subtitles are the way to go...sounds weird, but it's true. I haven't done a search yet - there's probably a union, but for now I'm just in the whole blogging spirit...
Maybe this is all just another way to spend useful time doing useles stuff...including this thread, which I would like to bring to the attention of as many people as possible, because this guy's obviously completely off his nut. To be honest I can't think of a much more pointless way to spend my time, which is probably why I keep going back (check out how many times I've posted there! :o). It's probably damaging in some way...
Given the title of this blog, is anyone else likely to read this do you think? "Just another bored guy"...well I'm not just some bored guy! I'm a student!! And I have rights!!!...*ahem* 'scuse me.
Anyway, revision proceeds, exams are gloriously failed with meaningless scrawl, and life goes on...or rather not if it repeats next year. Rats. Oh well.
Ah well, my first blog. I'm new to the whole E3 thing - one of my friends introduced me to it (and the Wii) - and it's amazing! Nintendo rule! If Wii sales don't hit some kind of record I'll be amazed. The controller looks so good for FPS games - I don't get along with analogue sticks so that'll be great. Though i kick ass using keyboard and mouse (IMHO).
Don't know if I'll be getting a nintendo though because it'll be something else to lug around from uni to home, and it's another distraction on top of the computer. Not to mention the TV that comes with it. Plus I doubt I'll have much room to wave a controller around, though the price looks like it's going to be truly incredible - estimates of £100 to £150 seem common.
The PS3 looks like it's going to have really good graphics...again...but I for one am more interested in gameplay. I don't think much of Sony's new whatever-they-call it add-on to the controller...a cheap rip off of Ninty's fine work as many people have pointed out. Especially in light of the fact that only one game utilises the feature in E3, and they weren't even aware of the thing until 2 weeks before E3! rubbish. And the price tag's a bit hefty...
As for the XBox (360 or whatever)...o dear...sure, looks like good multiplayer online wotsit, but if i can play using my PC, so much the better. They really shot themselves in the foot there - I can use my mouse better than any analogue stick, so there's no way in hell I'm getting an XBox. Forget graphics...it's all about gameplay, like I said before. I'm happy with PS2 graphics - they don't need to be better than that. Nintendo have got this SO right!
I will be very disappointed not to be able to play Final Fantasy XIII though...I love that series even though I've only played 7 & 8...I've seen plenty of 9 (looks great) and 10 (just as good) but not played since I don't actually own a PS2. I might get one this summer - prices should be...low...by now. Lol - i sure do procrastinate. I don't usually buy many games - I tend to hammer the ones I've got to absolute death then move on (The C&C series has provided many a month of gameplay!)
Games would probably last even longer if I had decent internet...even at uni we have the worst imaginable...loads of issues with it cutting out, downloading at 1 KBps, and badly restricted access for games, so no chance of playing online then...well, rant over with.
Anyway, that's that. Quite a long blog...maybe another will follow, maybe not...
