Neverwinter Nights: Daimond Command and Conquer: Red Alert The Hitman Series Any old Unreal Tournament Tribes 2 or Vengeance Diablo and Diablo II Sure a lot of these are pretty old now, but all are still pretty awesome.
1. Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (PS2) This is the greatest PS2 game EVER, hands down. I've played through it so many times, and it still hasn't got old at all. I wouldn't even need online play on my island to have a blast! 2. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (XB360) I've logged almost 70 hours, and I haven't even gotten started with half the guilds and have only done a little more than half the main quest. I think I wanna close every single Oblivion gate myself instead of just finishing the main quest and doing it the easy way. 3. NCAA Football 07 (XB360) I haven't yet gotten my hands on this one. I love college football, and I've spent countess hours through several seasons of the Dynasty mode in the earlier version I own now. It'd be nice if the latest version could float up on shore each year. 4. Guitar Hero (PS2) I have to have this game nearby, 24/7. I can't go a day without my fix of this game that guarantees that I never get bored. 5. SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs series (PS2) I'd take 'em all just for the single-player game, because it feels so good when you finally get it right and complete the mission without hardly being spotted.
1. The Zelda Series Victim of: one really dumb part of one game The first Zelda experience I've ever had is still hard in my mind: I was a my best friend's house, I was about 9 years old, and he was playing one of the N64 Zelda games. The only thing I saw was the little 3-D blonde dude everyone loves doing possibly the dumbest task I've ever heard of: go up to a magic cow, play a certain tune on a flute, and somehow the tune would make the magic cow secrete magic milk. So long, Zelda. I'll try not to miss Twilight Princess though, as I am a big fan of real-time battle and RPGs, and that game looks incredible. 2. Final Fantasy VIII (PS) Victim of: Blockbuster's lackluster quality and my empty wallet I rented FFVIII, but it was in a shape that made it freeze during the opening cinematic. I wanted to spend a week of one summer on it, and was all excited as I hadn't played a Final Fantasy before. I didn't have the money to buy the game at the time, so I traded it for a rent of FFVII, which I love but still haven't been able to beat due to the incredibly hard final boss. I've plade lots of Final Fantasies since then, and it's one of my favorite series. But VIII is still uncharted for me. For shame. 3. Chrono Trigger Victim of: Metroid, Pokemon Red, and the Mario series I was too busy to play this one because all I played back then was Mario, Pokemon, and Metroid. Word of mouth of the game also never got to me, so please, don't hate. 4. Perfect Dark (N64) Victim of: I have no freaking idea No, I never once played Perfect Dark. I was just a little kid back then, get off me. 5. The Castlevania Series Victim of: Once again, no freaking idea. Well, I'm not a big handheld guy ever since my 10th time through Pokemon Red. I don't know why I missed out on this killer series. I've played one of the GBA games, and that was for about ten minutes. I do own and love, however, the PS2's Lament of Innocence. So I haven't 100% missed out on the series. More like 95%.
I can't believe Metal Gear didn't at least get an honorable mention. And that guy who only spent 15 minutes on Duck Hunt must be cross-eyed or something because that's just about impossible. Duck Hunt used to be the reason I woke up every morning.
1. Metal Gear Solid (PS) - Because no game hero is as cool as Solid Snake. This is, without any doubt in my mind, the greatest game I've ever played and owned. I like to thing that MGS changed the world of video games forever, and that's what's so cool about it. Plus, nothing's more badass than Grey Fox shooting out Metal Gear REX's radar with one severed arm as he's about to die a really bloody death, and him proclaiming, "A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackel." Makes you forget all about Terminator saying "I'll be back." 2. Golden Sun (GBA): The best handheld RPG ever. Great story, great gameplay. RPGs don't really scream out "I'm cool," but once you get one look at the cinematic of the "Judgement" summon, you get the idea. 3. Guitar Hero (PS2): Because it's acually harder to play "Crossroads" on hard than it is to play the real song on a real guitar. 4. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (XB360): I was a vampire for a month and a half, then killed an ultra-powerful vampire for the cure to the disease. I helped a half-orc Arena champion find out about his ancestry, information which got him to puss out when it came time to fight me and let me kill him. Oh, and I inspired a guy to go on an axe-murdering spree. That's cool, fun stuff. 5. Devil May Cry 3 (PS2): A cliche in the world of coolness, Dante is just the guy that any game should make you feel like. Guns, swords, demons, and leather. Booya
