I have to agree with those who say start with the original. If those are too old school then play the GBA ones. I wouldn't recommend Symphony of the Night as your first one to play because it is the best one, so any of the others you play afterwards are going to pale in comparison.
I think Christian Bale could definately pull off the role. I have to admit though, that Jackman has the more traditional "Solid Snake" look. Either one will work in my opinion though. Kudos to KingKoop for the awesome photos!
