Gears of war was "good". One of the better games I've been playing lately. In the end I guess we'll all be sitting in a movie theatre wearing some kind of "cyber"-glasses with a controller in the right hand while drinking coke and eating popcorn with the left.
It is sad to see imagination being replaced by 3D-rendered graphics. Games of today relies on technology but they have lost the "soul". Anyone considering games like "The Last Ninja" or "The shadow of the beast" to be pillars of gaming would agree on this.
Gaming of today is not gaming, it is about pressing some buttons and wathing a movie. To break it bluntly to you "new gaming hobos", it stinks and that's big time. Anyone with three fingers and the thinking capacity of a chimpanzee can walk though the "games" produced today. And if that is not enough, they lack presence. Gaming died in the nineties, rest in peace.
GeOW2 > anything mentioned in this thread. It is yet to be released but so are all the games you dudes just mentioned. Maybe I should jump ahead of things and say GeOW3 for the XBOX 720 is the best looking game ever. Why can't you all wait till the games are done before making half assed assumptions. Right now on any platform (yes including PC) GeOW is the best looking game.
I went down to my local game-shop the otherday to buy myself a used XBOX360 (they are on sale for $150 a piece). I examined the exterior of all the five that they had in stock and so far so good but..... According to a lot of XBOX360 users the machine tends to wear down after not too long of usage and I am a bit worried about that. Is it possible to check when the machine was purchased in the first place? Please I need some advice.
It's not that the games are really THAT bad. But paying $600 for a machine (+ all the hype) makes you expect more than what was delivered. The Wii is a $250 machine don't forget that.
