I would like to say that this will mark my return to these beloved forums, but I highly doubt that. Just wanted to give a very grave and solemn personal update to those I was close to on here. Do you remember my lovely wife Erika aka MysticGurlie? She left me...back in March. In short she cheated on me and hasn't really looked back. By the grace of God I am doing well, but I would be lying if I said I don't still think of her. Don't think that will ever really stop. Anywho, for that and a couple other much less interesting reasons, I don't come on here for the community anymore. I don't expect I will check back on comments on this anytime soon, so if you would like to hear more, or just want to say hi, hit me up via email (darrencubb7@gmail.com), MSN (same as email), or on XBL. It has been several days since I have been able to take a deep breath without coughing or sneezing right afterward. Being sick really sucks. It has given me a lot of time to think, however. And there is really only one thing that has been on my mind primarily: creation. Ever since I started getting serious about getting better at graphic arts, all it takes is allowing my mind to wander just the smallest bit and it will start thinking about what I can design next. Photoshop.......Illustrator...........UltraFractal.........Dreamweaver.........these have become as much a part of me as my own beating heart.
My only wish? More time. I hardly get to work on designing between work, being a good husband, church and friends and family. Every chance I get, however I break out Nemesis and my Intuos3 and get to work. I feel....................really good when I design. There are so many aspects of why it feels so good.......I dare not try to explain them all. I probably don't even know the full extent of them myself. There is one in particular I cannot pass up....
So there I am........sitting at Starbucks during lunch desiging like I do just about everyday. I sit there, much like all of you, and effectively manipulate 1s and 0s on my screen and somehow output a Jpeg that looks like this. Its actually quite amazing when you think about it. I am a Christian. Have been for going on 8 years now. And since beginning to design things it has let me appreciate the world around me in a way I have never been able to before. God's Creation is the most magnificent work of art that has ever been conceived. It is sometimes hard to regonize, however, the Truth that God painted on the canvas of the Night.

Welcome back all my loyal minions. Tomorrow morning I leave at 8:35am from Ontario International Airport heading to Boston to visit my brother. He has Fios and WiFi so I will be on here and there, but this may be my last blog for a couple weeks. I hope to see DV overthere at some point. We will prolly end up going to a local Gamestop and being useless for a couple hours. :lol: We should have a blast there!! We are going to NYC to see the Nintendo Store, Going to Salem to see where the Witch Trials happened, and even going on a haunted ship!! :shock: Other than that, there is not much new. I will be on MSN pretty often if any of you should need me. Now on to the girly pics!! I will put one extra, seeing as how I am going to be gone for a while. ;)

Hello to all of my loyal friends. Not a tremendously large amount to say today. Just noticed it has been more than a week since my last blog, so it was high time for another. Lets see.....what's new? It is my birthday in two weeks. It is on the 28th of this month. I will be on the other side of the country by then. I am heading to Boston. I will be there from the 24th through the 29th. My brother and his lovely wife live there. On the 26th, I will be in New York, Times Square specifically. My wife and I absolutely HAVE to visit the Nintendo store while we are on the East Coast. I will probably be able to meet up with Devil_Vergil while I am there, as he lives in the Greater Boston area.
Things are looking up at work, shockingly enough. I am doing pretty good this month and my boss has been fairly unannoying lately, which is a big deal for him! :P Once Steph is fully recovered, we will prolly meet up and finally start hanging out. Its so odd, I never ever thought I would actually get to meet any of the people on here in person! :P Oh ya, and I recieved a free copy of World in Conflict froma manager of a GameStop I am good friends with. RTSes are usually not my cup of tea, but I am REALLY liking this one. It is absolutely incredible how cinematic it is. My laptop can barely run it, so I am really sweating Crysis now. I have an Asus G1S 15.4" Laptop with 4GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, 2.4Ghz Core2Duo and a 512MBNvidia 8600M GTX. Pretty nice bomb system if I may say so myself, and for WiC to not really run well on it says alot about how awesome that game really looks.

Hello my little bluetooth headsets. :| So as some of you have noticed, I haven't made a new blog in a while. Especially Cameron. :| Well, my brother's birthday was on the 29th of September. I have this thing about giving gifts to people. To me, if a gift is thoughtless or half ass, you might as well not get anything. I mean, if the person you are giving the gift to is shallow enough to think differently of you if you don't give them something on their Birthday or some other holiday, they don't deserve anything in the first place. These days are about celebrating a life or some other dramatic event in History.....not about getting gifts. Anyway, that said.....I am pretty good at getting or making good gifts......so I end up getting something for someone almost every time. My brother is a really tough one. So am I, I guess but in a different way. See, I am a gadget freak. That is what I have always loved as far as material possessions go. The problem is that I already own just about everything I would ever want in this category......so buying a really good gift for me is hard. Luckily, I always prefer a person just showing up and giving me a hug over a gift any day.My brother's reason is much more noble. He is hard, not because he owns so much, but because he is very humble and does not value possessions very much at all. What was I to do? Well make him a vector based portrait of him of course!!! :| :lol: Ya......of course. So I did......and I just barely finished it. Here is how it came out... For those of you that aren't like me or Stephanime might not see why an image like this is is special. As I mentioned before, this isa vector based piece of art. What that means is the original file I made never touched Photoshop. It is not a simple pixel based picture like my banner or your blog pic, but instead is a harmony of mathematical precision. It is a collection of points, lines, curves and polygons filled with color. So who cares, right? The application of a piece of art like the one above is really why it is so special. The image copy above is 432x540 in resolution. But since the original file is math based, rather than pixel based, I could also blow it up to double or triple that size and the image would stay mathematically lossless. Hell, I could make it big enough to print on the side of a sky scraper and it would still look flawless. For those of you I just bored to death, I apologize. But, if there is one person I know that will appreciate the fact that this picture is vector based, it is my brother. He is the one that originally introduced me to Adobe Illustrator (the worlds foremost program for vector art). I have since far surpassed him in technical skill, but neither of us will soon forget the countless hours we have shared making things in Illustrator all those years ago.
On another note, many of you know my wife, Erika. She started coming on here a while back, but has recently succumbed to the wiles of a deadly virus known only as "Xbox360". :| She has recently stated that she was going to make a comeback on here, but the prerequisite wsa that I create a new profile for her. So I notice once and a while that prople on GS will post a blog like this.....like where they announce they cut down their friends list.......so here is mine. I usually don't like conforming to the classic style blogs as most do, as you have probably noticed. You know what I mean.....like having surveys on each blog, just mindlessly ranting about your boring day, day after day. Or how about the always classic holiday and big game launch blogs? *cough* Halo3 *cough cough* Well, I don't like doing any of these much. I like each of my blogs to mean something and to give some real insite into my life. Granted, most of you don't even read them, :lol:, but that is a whole other blog right there. ;)
So what am I making one of these for? How did I make this one stand out from most of the rest? Well, usually when I see these, its like "Man I just went from 471 all the way to 423" or "I just went from 86 all the way to 62" or something like that. Well I did not screw around. Earlier today, I had north of 230 friends......where am I now? 43!!! So, unlike most of these you see, simply from a mathmatical standpoint, consider yourself very lucky if I still deem you as a friend of mine. :lol:
**Note: If you find that you are no longer my friend.....but like we actually talk pretty often, please let me know. I made these cuts from work and as many of you know, I use this program to make my GS/IM/Gaia windows almost transparent so my boss won't see. I did my best, but with cutting nearly 200 people on a window only set to about 14% opacity, I could have made some mistakes. :|

Hello my little staplers. :| As all of you know (or should know by now) I am married to MysticGurlie. Well, yesterday (Sept 17th) was our two year wedding anniversary!!! :shock: I love her with all my little heart!! :oops: We went and stayed at an Embassy Suites hotel here in Southern California to celebrate. This hotel is located near an INCREDIBLE electronics store called Fry's. We were there pretty much everyday, on account of how big of nerds we are. On Saturday, we decided to buy a new projector. We are now not only able to play Gears of War and Bioshock on a 105' screen, but now it is in beautiful high definition quality.
Erika and I like naming inanimate objects. Our projector is named Shadow. He is so cute!!! :| And for those of you who miss Erika on here, she says she misses you too!! However, if she never came on here before, imagine how little she is going to come on now that she can play BioShock and FEAR in HD. :| :lol:
I, like most people living on the West Coast, did not know anyone personally injured or killed in the terroist attack six years ago. But the really scary thing is, I almost did. If fact, I almost knew someone actually on one ofthe planes that were hijacked. My Eric actually had a ticket for American Airlines Flight 77 that was used on the attack on the Pentagon. Just a few days earlier, he had a last minute change of plans and had to reschedule. There were no survivors on ANY of those planes six years ago. He would have surely died. But, God, in his infinite wisdom did not believe that my brother's work here on Earth was complete. Many of you know where my beliefs lie. So much in this world can teach you about the providence of God if you only listen and this, in particular, is one that speaks strong to me on a day like today.

Hello all my little bowls of clam chowder. :| So, very recently I have gotten to know Stephanime much better than before. I mean I have seen her around the blogs for several months now and always admired her graphical design prowess, but never really got to talking to her much. Well, thats all changed now and let me tell you that we are so similar it is scary. I don't even want to go into all the ways we are for reasons she should know, ;), but ya, we are. Like hardcore. :| So, the theory we are working on is that we were both originally born twin brother and sisterfrom a Mexican secret agent couple (like Jaime Bond or somthing like that :lol: ). The US government stole us away from our family and placed us in the hands of our now current "parents". Those jerks!! :shock: Who knew we would find each other again 21 years later. :| **Note that this theory is still in the development process** :|
