"It is generally regarded as significantly worse than the game that proceeded it"

Gamespot, RE4: 7.8/10 (PC)

Gamespot, RE5: 8.5/10 (PC)

Gamespot, do your research before posting stupidity - it's the original Quake, not Quake Champions that is getting the update

@barnold81: I think you remember wrong. Harmony of Dissonance was the game with the Game Boy Color soundtrack...

They ran out of cartridge space after having much more colourful and upgraded graphics in Harmony compared to Circle. So the music took a hit. Don't know how they fixed this in Aria, though, as it had both great graphics and music, and was longer than Harmony, and with more detailed sprites.

Harmony was still a blast, though. Especially after playing Circle first, I remember it being much faster and more action-heavy. Dashing left and right with that rotating spell-books defensive skill that killed everything it touched was a blast!

At this stage it is more cons than pros:

PROS

+ Amazing graphics

+ Good punchy action

+ Decent voice and music

+ Interesting idea around the skill tree

CONS

- Uninteresting story

- Only one city/camp

- Boring characters

- Boring merchants and merchandise

- "Side quests" are a joke - usually clear a narrow corridor of monsters

- Poor map design with long narrow corridors and turn slighyl left/right

- Boring and few skills; skill tree changes little in how you play

- No character classes

- Loot is simply higher stat items

- Grindy end game

- BUGS

There is a lot of room for this to be great but it needs a ton of further polish particularly in the skills, loot, maps and end game.

Every once in a while somebody comes out and says how difficult it would be for D2 to be recreated up to modern standards.. I call it all BS.. if Blizz wants it they can make it happen. Don't see how D2 is more difficult than W3, the latter with all its races, units, buildings, voices, heroes, etc..

Assets being lost is BS. Blizz would need to redraw them in HD anew anyways, like they did for SC. And also - the advances made in reverse engineering source code have been amazing.
