Well, I've been wanting to get Burnout and Devil May Cry 4 but had other obligations with my money. I also wanted Patapon but, again, didn't want to waste money. So while cleaning I came across some old games. Final Fantasy VII-IX, Metal Gear Solid for PS, Suikoden, and Resident Evil 2 for PS. I haven't played any of these in years! So I popped in FF VII and was amazed...at how bad the game looks. Don't get me wrong, I was hooked on this game when it first came out. Now....well now I was laughing out loud at how it looked. The polygons were so big you could actually count them. And there were barely faces on these things: just big polygons. So yeah, I popped in the others and gave them each like 5 minutes for laughs. Then I thought, why not sell these things? Some people tell me FFVII is hard to find and so is RE2 on PS. So I listed them on an auction site and couldn't believe that they were getting bids. I'll let you guys know how much I got later but it should at least cover Patapon and maybe even Burnout.

and I only give predictions for these two because I can't predict what a console that's owned by toddlers and the elderly alike is going to do. No offense intended.

Microsoft: Sales will more or less remain stable. No spikes and no drops. Just regular numbers. Think about it, what game is going to get the 360 a major sales jump? There is none. Gears 2? Gears was great but if don't you think that people that want Gears 2 already have a 360? And if MS didn't dominate the market after Halo 3 then what else do they have? This is not the year the 360 dies; far from it. It will be the year we start to hear about Xbox 4.

Sony: Remember way back in the day when the PS2 got GTA III, FFX, and MGS 2? Yeah, that was the holy trinity for many. Well 08 may come close to that or even surpass it. Team Ico's game will be unveiled. GT5 will be released. God of War III may be out for the holiday season. Little Big Planet will change the way we platform. Home will change PSN. The Final Fantasy's may not appear but will be ever closer. White Knight Story is lurking. So is the Getaway. Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and Metal Gear Solid 4. Holy crap people. Now this is the boom that gamers have been waiting for. This is the year when PS3's start out selling 360 on a regular basis. I'm not saying that the PS3 will re-claim the USA, but it will make a major dent in MS' claim for second. That's the good, the bad is that after all of this if the sales don't increase then Sony will never get the USA back. The chances of the latter are, however, very slim.

What can't my PS3 do. I mean really. I just upgraded my HDD, weapt at the beauty of Heavenly Sword, love the coming lineup, and now I truly see the advantage of blu-ray with Planet Earth. My god. If you even remotely like animal documentaries and somewhat get into HD quality images then you MUST GET THIS NOW!

Whew....that took me back to the old days when bosses were super cheap. The boss fights in this game are beyond cheap. I was ready to scream. Fire Fox and Whip Tail weren't that bad. Fire Fox the second time around was downright funny how cheap it got but King Bohan was a beast. No spoilers but once you realize his pattern he's not that hard. The game was beautiful (at least in cut scene). The real time graphics had framerate issues along with some bad slow down at the end. Overall a great game. I hope there's a part two.

I went ahead and did what I've been wanting to do: I upgraded my PS3 hdd. Got a 160gb drive from newegg.com along with a 2gb flash drive to help me do the transfer. I've recently been adding all my itunes music to my PS3 in anticipation of in-game xmb. Also, the amount of games that will soon be available online via PSN is going to overwhelm my small 60 gb drive. At least that's what I tell myself. I plan on selling the old drive to help with the cost of the new one. I also picked up Uncharted but I'm not playing it until I beat Heavenly Sword. It's just been sitting here collecting dust. Not that it's a bad game (in fact I think it's amazing). It's just with COD4 online I haven't had a chance for much else. Once I beat Heavenly Sword I'll be playing Uncharted and hopefully I'll get a chance to rent Assasin's Creed and Ratchet and Clank.

because I feel obligated to support good games that aren't selling. I don't know why. Maybe because this is a game that actually utilizes what my system does well and it's not selling. What gives guys! I gotta think a lot of people are picking up the PS3 for the novelty of it (the new ads are uber cool) but not picking up a game along with it. So yeah, I wanted Uncharted but felt guilty about paying 65 bucks on yet another game. I looked through my stack of games and saw Rainbow Six Vegas and though, what the heck, I don't play this game. Trade it in. Gamestop offered me a mere 15 bucks for it. I opted to sell it on an auction site. I don't know why everyone doesn't do this. I got 40 bucks for a used game. Minus shipping I have a cool 35 bucks towards Uncharted. I'm definetely picking the game up now. So yeah, don't trade in at GS. Take the time to sell on a site where you get the money and not some corporation.

P.S...next week I'm on vacation so look for thoughts on Assasain's Creed, Ratchet and Clank, as well as Uncharted.

I just ebayed Madden 08. Sorry to keep on with this game but I'm such a big football fan that I wanted to believe it wasn't as bad as the press was saying it was. Well it is. Not that it's unplayable, but for 65 bucks I really think I deserve a version at least as good as what I'd get if I bought the 360 version. Having played the game since Tuesday, I gotta say that the frame rate is bad and I'm losing games because of it. Not cool for a 65 dollar game. So yeah, my copy of Madden will now go on to some lucky (or unlucky) person out there. I was just going to sell it to Gamestop but they were only going to give me 30 bucks for it. So that's my starting price...30 bucks. Not posting this to solicit bids; I want videogamers of all consoles to not put up with crappy games being charged at full price. Hopefully they get it right for next year.

Yeah, I guess I'm a hypocrite. I never thought I'd pay full price for an inferior version but I gotta say the PS3 version isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I don't know if I would've rated both versions the same but I gotta tell you that not getting Madden because of worry over the frame rate would be a mistake.

Not that I didn't want to, I just haven't because I thought my new roommate would be as cool as he seemed about me using his 360 and him using my PS3; not so. He's being a total jerk about me playing XBL under his account and I can sorta understand that but then when I said "okay, I'll pay for my own XBL account" he was sorta stand offish. Not that he said no, but it wasn't a yes. When I asked him if he pre-ordered Halo 3 he responded with a yes and I said "cool, think I could play while you're at work?" It was then that he told me that it's nothing personal, but he's on his third 360 and he's really paranoid about having to go through the whole process again. Even the one he has now has some problem with the disc tray not always ejecting and the power button not always working, or so he says. I'm not petty so I'll let him play my PS3. This thing is as sturdy as a rock and I've had no problems with it so I'm not worried at all. But now the bullet I thought I could dodge, the 400 dollar bullet, that would allow me to play Halo and enjoy Madden at 60 fps is now something I'll have to take. Sigh. I don't know where this money is going to come from. I've already pre-ordered four games for PS3 and there's another four I wanna buy for PS3. Now I'm going to have to try and come up with 500 bucks for a new system and Halo? So yeah, I may have to buy a 360...or I may just have to pass this years Madden and not play Halo 3 (single player at least), for awhile. In my roommate's defense, he said I could play anytime he's around and starts it up but who wants to do that? I can't enjoy playing Halo 3 single player when he's home. This is when he's going to want to play his own games. :roll:.

I just rented it last night and set the mood appropiately before I watched it. I turned off the lights, got a cold drink, and prepared to be disturbed. The first one really really got to me. It gets better each time I watch it (as far as not grossing me out) but it's still a very dark movie. That said, I had big hopes for this one. Man oh man is it possible for a good thing to go bad quickly. First off, you can't have Army soldiers in a horror movie against strong freaks of nature using rocks and spears as weapons. It's just not convincing that soldiers with assault rifles are going to get slaughtered. The dialouge was just horrible. As a military veteran I gotta say the way they wore the uniform, the length of everyone's hair, and along with many other things just ruined it for me, and the gore and violence just looked stupid this time. Seriously, this is not supposed to be a movie with comic relief. Don't have a guy get his hand chopped off and then have the guy who just chopped his hand off use it to wave goodbye. That's cheesy. I won't even get into how they opened the movie. Just do yourself a favor and avoid this movie if you can.
