Am I the only one that doesn't really care that Wii's graphics aren't fantastic looking? I'm happily playing in 480i (though I could easily get the component and go 480p). Whether it's Paper Mario, the new Zelda game, or any of the VC games...I think they look fine the way they are. I'm not expecting 360 or PS3 quality graphics from the Wii. Just solid gameplay, that's why I GOT the Wii. I have a 360. It fulfills my HD need. And the online experience. Wii fulfills my solid gameplay need just fine. It wouldn't bother me at all if they improved the graphics, but it's not something I worry about.

It's a Wii, not a PS3 or 360...how good do you really need the picture to be?

Looks good on an LCD tho. I'm just using the basic cables on my HDTV, and it really does look great...but at the same time, how the games look is not something that's a huge concern for me when it comes to the Wii.

Why are people down on the questions?

Did someone expect life changing or company changing questions?

I thought it would actually have *some* meaning, say...they give you 3-4 "classic" games, and you can decide which is the next to be released on the VC...THAT would be a good question for this thing.

I've been trying the last few hours today...but I just can NOT get my Wii to connect to my network. It sees it. It knows it's there...but it won't connect. I've tried both of the WPA things as I know I have WPA, just not sure which type....I've put in my passcode...and it just won't work...it's no biggie yet as I just got the Wii and I'm having a blast with Paper Mario and WiiSports, but still.

I'd have to agree. Take the board's recommendations into consideration. But RENT them first. I've listened to these boards a few times, on the 360, talking about "must have games"...and two of them bored me to tears. As it is, when I get the Wii (assuming I can find one), I'm likely just going to be getting whatever Mario/Zelda games are out.

Ah. Sweet. I hope they do at least add a thing sometime down the line to let you talk with friends online while you play games. I'm fine with not playing with/against them on the Wii, but to talk would be nice. As a work around, I'll probably just have the 360 on, talk to my friend with the wireless mic, and play games on the Wii. The other things have pretty much sold me on getting the system. That, and the overwhelming desire I have to play Mario/Zelda.

Is there any way on the Wii to talk to a friend that has the Wii, online, while I'm playing a game, and he's playing his? Like with the 360, you go to your buddy list, choose a friend to talk to, and you can do it from the dash, to the game, and back to the dash. Is this possible on Wii?

On a widescreen HDTV, does the Wii fill the screen?

Is that older style NES/SNES controller avaiable that i heard about last year? I haven't seen it on Amazon or anything (where I do 90% of my shopping).

For the memory unit, to save games, can you use your own memory card, or do you have to use the Nintendo brand? It looks like you can use your own, from the pictures I've seen.

Finally, does this thing have to be like the 360 and PS3, given plenty of room for airflow, or is it like virtually any other console, where you could have things right next to it, under it, etc?

Sorry if these have already been asked/answered before. I'm never on this board, and just searched through the last few pages of threads and didn't see anything. Thanks for the help guys!

I personally think the "I'm on my 2nd" should be included with the "I'm on my first.". Having one bad console, to me, does not constitute a problem. I had one bad PS2, one bad PSOne, etc...but it wasn't a bad thing. Anything beyond that is ridiculous. Or user error. Or user over reaction. I've had the three lights twice on my 360. Yet the thing still works *great*. I just wonder if people would've stopped and taken a breath...if their 360 would still be working to this day. I think, "yes".

It's obvious that PS3 is a disappointment and PSP is going to lose to the DS. Let's be real about it, the main reason why Sony has had two very disappointing systems is for one reason: PRICE! These systems are not losing because of poor game selection. EVERY new console had crappy games at launch. You simply can't expect people to pay almost $300 for a handheld and almost $700 for a console. (I'm including the extra money for a game and any essential peripheries.) That's utterly ridiculous! Now... I knew the price points were ridiculous even though many internet fanboys were clueless. Although, I think its was majority opinion on the internet several years ago that the invasion of Iraq was a good idea, so yeah, I don't put much credence into what some anonymous internet dude thinks about the next console. BUT SONY... they should know better! What the heck were they thinking? Do their chief planners make so much money, that they aren't in touch with the average budget? Did they think people would want Blu-Ray THAT bad? Were they just arrogant? I think the last suggestion is most likely. Nintendo had this problem too when they refused obvious upgrades like games on CDs. Is it just the natural order that when you ride high for too long, you become careless and lose sight of the common sense ideas that succeed in the video game bizness? (Such as affordable consoles!)The__MCP

Apparently Sony didn't learn anything from the 3D0 debacle.
