If you want to make the "high-end, master race elitist" cutoff for system wars purposes, then save up at least another $300-$400.

If not then $600 should get you a decent build, as long as you already have a mouse/kb and monitor.

At this point I don't think MS even cares about the resolution...

...don't know about its fans though.
