Halo 3 and Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts

just picked up two games today, Halo 3 and Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts. I played Halo 3 mostly for 4 or so hours (online coop is a freakin blast lol). While i was playing i had CoH: OFinstalling. I played the first mission of the Panzer Elite campaign and thought it was awesome cant wait to play some more. After playing the beta extensively, i have to say that my new favorite faction is definetely the Panzer Elite. British are too campy for me and the Panzer Elite is just too awesome compared to the old CoH factions (which now seem really dull, except Wermacht cause they got the king tiger now).

I want to play some more, but i got a Calculus test to study for. :(

I love my new GPU :)

My 8800 arrived on Tuesday, but i've been having too much fun with it to post lol.

8800

I can now run Bioshock on max at 1680x1050 with 40-50 fps (medal of honor airborne is the same). WiC, CoH, F.E.A.R, Supcom, all maxed out with great frame rates; o ya, and Oblivion, that is finally maxed out also. Now the true test will come later this month when the Crysis demo hits :D

Malcolm X...

omg, i just spent the past two freakin days doing nothing but read this book. I have a 4000 word report on it due the first day of school, August 30th (start of my junior year). And for some reason i've had the book for several weeks and didnt want to read it, but now i gotta cram in the final week.

I have to say though, its a pretty interesting book. Before i started, i didnt really want to read it because i had heard Malcolm was somewhat of an extremist. Also i didnt really want to read about the civil rights struggle as its a touchy subject. However it is very well written and details all of Malcolm's life from being a kid in Michigan to being a drug dealer in Boston/New York, going to jail, and then finding the Religion of Islam. Despite it being a pretty good book, im pretty uncomfortable with him labeling the entire white race as "the white devil." Kinda hard to read when im being insulted based on my skin color. But i can understand why he was such an angry man as he had alot of bad experiances being segregated.

malcolm

anyway, if you're a fan of history and are interested in the African-American Civil Rights struggle, this is a great book. At least i find it to be very good.

I have emerged...

...from Rapture. Got my copy of the PC version of Bioshock around 3 o'clock PM, August 21st...about 20 minutes before i left for work (damn you UPS!!!), since then i havent done much except play Bioshock, and go to work. After plowing through the singleplayer, all i can say is wow, it was such a well down game. from the atmosphere to all the plasmids, i had a great time. Especially the plot twist that came towards the middle, did not see that one coming. Im definetely going to play through this at least two more times; once to harvest the little sisters (I saved them all the first time), and then another to play it at max at 1680x1050 (when i get my 8800; i ran the game at max at 1152x864 with a good frame rate, however i had to run it in a window, i want this game to fill up the whole monitor lol).

bioshock

just a picture of my copy. Bioshock is just an incredible game, i rate it a 9.5/10, anyone who can should definetely check it out.

Command and Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath (expansion)

first off, today saw the first episode of CnC TV launching and with it, came the news of a new expansion! the new expanion sounds alot like Zero Hour in that each faction gets two new sub-factions. IMO, think this is awesome as i love games that open up specialised tech trees (Company of Heroes and Zero Hour notably). the expansion is slated for early 2008. check out the new CnC TV, its a great show. KANE LIVES!

Bioshock Demo is out! (for 360 at least)

After watching that horrendous show (Killpoint i think it was called, im trying to forget it was so bad) and getting the news that the Bioshock demo is out, i have mixed reactions. On one hand i have a 360 and i can play the game at least before it comes out, but on the other hand im kinda mad that the PC doesnt get a demo.

BioI preordered the PC version and was kinda hoping to have a demo to see how my machine could handle it. O well, i need to stop b*tching, at least i have a chance to play it. The PC fans may be disappointed right now, but we need to feel really bad for the people that sat through the entire show. i only watched the first 10 minutes and it was awful. I was laughing my ass off when the guard walked up to that guy at the urinal, looked at his stuff, and then told him to pull down his pants and get on the floor. i dont know about anyone else but that was just horrible, disturbing, and hilarious at the same time....ahhh bad times, bad times lol. I hope that show gets cancelled. anyway, the 360 download is going too slow, so ill cancel it and try again tomorow. Hang in there fellow PC gamers, only 8 days till the full release. Hell, if were lucky we'll get that demo before.
