Well to find someway to overcome the crushing boredom in my life I have decided to make a series of Top 10 Games blogs, starting with the PS2. I had my PS2 from 2003 to 2004, just over a year, and here are my Top 10 Games on the PS2 for the brief era in which I had the console:
- 10. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
- I found this game to be immensly fun (it was the first PS2 game I got, along with The Sims) and, while it's not the best of the GTA 3 saga, deeply involving.
- 9. Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
- So how the hell did this get higher than Vice City? If you were me, you'd understand. I pwned the hell outa this game (reached 100% eventually) and loved 98% of it.
- 8. Futurama
- I was (and still am) a huge Futurama fan, and when the game was released I hyped so much and bought it along with Kingdom Hearts. The game was fun, yet incredibly difficult in the later stages.
- 7. The Getaway: Black Monday
- It was very close between this and the original, but it went to this because of the much added replayability of additional characters in free-roam, even though there was still nothing to do.
- 6. Escape From Monkey Island
- Damn Monkey Kombat sucked, but everything else in the game rocked, and, while Monkey Kombat hampered my progress for a while, I managed to complete the game. Shame about the ending, almost as bad as the end of MI2.
- 5. James Bond 007: Nightfire
- I [heart]ed this game and the multiplayer kept me and my friends occupied for weeks. This is the best Bond game since GoldenEye and will remain the best until Everything Or Nothing (which may appear in the Xbox countdown).
- 4. Medal of Honour: Frontline
- I bought this alongside Rising Sun, and this was better by a mile. I loved this game so much, the opening level is more than enough to make your forget about all of the games shortcomings (those being minimal). The Arnhem level is my favourite and will remain my favourite level in a WW2 shooter until Call of Duty sets a mission in the south of France.
- 3. Dog's Life
- My Ja! This game was fantastic! Terrificly original and I gurantee there will be no game like this ever again, The Dog Island doesn't even come close.
- 2. The Sims
- It may not have been glamerous, but The Sims occupied 160+ of my hours, mainly due to my lack of a PC at the time so I couldn't play The Sims on PC, but still, I loved this game. Bustin' Out and The Urbz weren't nearly as good.
- 1. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
- You all knew this would be number 1, and so I don't need to say much.
Well I'm done, next Top 10 countdown will be the Xbox (original).
