I’ll just start off that I was never any good at these games, but that did not stop me from trying

The games

Capcom Generation 1 Sega Saturn

which has 1942, 1943, and 1943 Kai.

And then

1942 Joint Strike XBLA XB 360

This video is the best overview of the game series but a word warning some language in the video

and its a bit longer than I would prefer.

wishlist oddly enough is another game series that picks up after the 1942 and done by the company Psikyo and that’s the 1945 Strikers (Sat) and 1945 Strikers II (Sat) or the ACA NEO GEO 1945 Plus (XB1)

TV shows: Baa Baa Black Sheep aka Black Sheep Squadron

Movie: Red Tails film about the Tuskegee Airmen

Trying to find a video that covers all the games was not easy (cause I used 1941 instead of starting with the 1st game 1942) here is mention of the other games in the series for Capcom Generation and that brings me to

Capcom Generation 2 (Sat) which contains

Ghosts & Goblins, Ghouls N’ Ghosts and Super Ghouls N’ Ghosts.

Still not very good here I was trying to be tough about it and tried to beat the games in order and the 1st game I believe I got to the last boss (possibly) and could not beat it.

also the game has some remixed music from each game (not used in game though) that I recommend.

Mercs (Gen) cause no one asked and it did get mentioned in video (Saturn version)
