I like all the systems that are considered next gen. I have some concerns regarding Sony though; It just feels like the Dreamcast all over again. Now I know it's not the first next gen system on the market, but it is the most expensive. It is the most expensive to make, in every aspect. I know it's a sweet ass deal for a cheap alternative to a Blue-Ray player, but we all as gamers know when the thing is doing double duty as a Gaming system and a DVD/Blue Ray Player the drive tends to die just a little quicker. Sony is at the point where they were looking for greatness, and the PS3 is just that; but, It is ahead of its time in some of the technology. That machine could be just as powerful without half of the stuff they added to the machine. The company now is taking a huge a** loss and probably never turn a profit off of this system. I think that the company is just so worried about the competition (360 only, because the Wii is not) that they put all the extras in to make it more appealing. Come on, how many people actually own a 1080p TV. I know my friend who sells TV's at Rex is still selling 1080p support TV's for over $3,000. When high def TV comes to the main line it wont even be that high. I just don't understand why you would try to be that innovative in the technology in the machine that you would jack the price of the system and still take a loss. Sony needs to check themselves again and so do all the people, because this is not the PS2 and the 3rd party support will show after Sony fails to make the goals laid out by the exec's. The 360 is about in the same boat, but MS was a little smarter by not trying to be completely innovative and using the technology available. The 360 before the death will have a profit for each system sold. Nintendo is the best thing on the market and will win this next-gen war. Now I know the system sucks graphically, but it is getting mad props by major retailers and will sell all 4 million systems they have available before the end of the year. MS has been out a year and only has 6.5 million sold, and Nintendo will be close to that figure in 3 months. Sony will not even be close to any of these figures by the other companies. Recommendation: I would buy a 360 for my more intensively graphic hardcore games, and I would buy a Wii for my platforms Zelda, Mario, etc. The premium 360 and the Wii together would still be about the same price as the PS3. You would then have 2 kick ass Next-Gen systems for the price of one. Wait to buy your PS3, this is going to have major problems at launch. Talk about system that is going to restart on you out of nowhere all the time. The PS3 will be that machine. The processor will over heat and will require you to reboot or will do it automatically.
