a game getting a 9 or 9.5 was a thing of glory. i was the game that everyone loved, getting a 9 meant that you were above everyone else, that you had something sgnificant and new to offer to the gaming world. before the two recent 10s, there had been a 10 every couple of years, but two? in one year? whether the games are good or not, that is opinion, but they are definetely not deserving of a 10 if there is any fault whatseover. but the great era of holy 9s has passed, in that eramediocre games would get 6-7 and a pretty good game would get an 8 if it was lucky. but the 9 was reserved for the elite few. now the 9 is handed out like a token prize. getting a 9 compares you to the 10s, which werent deserving in the first place (not saying they arent good, just saying that they werent perfet 10/10s) getting a 9 now mean almost nothing and getting a 8 or 7 is absolute **** bed games are getting 8-7s.
this long line of text is a commemoration to the golden age of gamespot. when a game could/would get a 9.1 and be f***ing amazing
