Game of the day 11th March 2011 - Sports Agent (iPod/iPhone/iPad)
by DangerousDerek on Comments
Sports Agent is one of the most addictive games I have ever played. The aim of the game is simple, purchase various sports stars for a certain amount of money, and try and sell them to make a profit on them, the game ends after a certain period of time. Retailing at only $0.99/£0.59, for ALL iDevices, the game is sure to keep you playing for hours.
Game of the day 10th March 2011 - Airport Madness Challenge HD (iPad)
by DangerousDerek on Comments
Airport Madness Challenge HD is an air traffic control simulation game for iPad. Despite only being released in 2011 the game has already amassed over 600,000 downloads. The game itself is very similar to Flight Control HD, except in AMD you do not have to draw flight paths for the planes, instead choosing when they taxi/take-off, when they cross runways, and when they slow down or go around. The only downside of the game I would say is the price, it retails at $4.99/2.99, and the game itself is not that much different than the iPod/iPhone version.
Game of the day 9th March 2011 - Plant vs Zombies HD (iPad)
by DangerousDerek on Comments
Since the latest update of the game was released in February 2011 Plants vs Zombies HD has already become an instant classic. Available on many platforms such as iDevices, Xbox 360 and PS3, Plants vs Zombies is an advanced tower defence game in which the player must use different species of plants to defend his house from zombies. The HD version of the game offers many improved features on the iPod/iPhone, such as massively improved graphics, improved game modes, new achievements and more. The game retails at $6.99/£3.99, some may say it's a little overpriced but I think that's a little harsh, the game offers a lot more than the iPod/iPhone version and it will surely keep you playing for hours.
Game of the day 8th March 2011 - Angry Birds (iPod/iPhone/iPad)

Once the player has destroyed all the pigs, the level is complete. Different birds are unlocked throughout the game, and each of the has a special bonus that can be used by tapping the screen once the bird has been launched. Game of the day 6th March 2011 - Call of Duty Black Ops (Xbox 360)
by DangerousDerek on Comments
Since it was released on the slightly controversial date November 9th 2010, Black Ops has had mostly positive. Gamespot's own critics rated it 8.8/10, IGN rated it 8.5/10, and Total Video Games rated it 9/10. The seventh main installment in the Call of Duty franchise, the game has certainly lived up to its exceptions. After selling 5.6 million copies on its first day alone, adding up to a colossal $360 million, the game has already established itself as one of the best selling games of all time. Black Ops brings back the famous zombies mode, which was missing from Modern Warfare 2, and it has certainly been improved, whilst also featuring a vastly improved online multiplayer. I'd go into great detail, but this isn't a review. The campaign has also seen significant improvement on its predecessors. However, like any Call of Duty franchise, this title wasn't without its controversy. Cuba condemned the game after the opening mission features a Fidel Castro body-double being assassinated. All Black Ops promotional material was banned in the run up to its release in Germany, video games are not classed as art in Germany, therefore Black Ops was classed as propaganda of Nazi Ideology. Pro's Good Campaign Great Multiplayer Great Customizable feautures Con's Hackers, Boosters etc... Glitches
Game of the day 5th March 2011 - Flight Control (iPod/iPhone/iPad)
by DangerousDerek on Comments
Flight Control is an incredibly addictive game produced by Firemint Pty Ltd. The latest update for the iPod/iPhone version was released on the 8th December 2010, whilst the latest update for the iPad version was released on the 24th November 2010. The iPod/iPhone version retails at $0.99/£0.59 whilst the iPad version retails at the slightly overpriced cost of $4.99/£2.99. As the game has two different versions, I will talk about them both separately, starting with the iPod/iPhone version. The game is priced very reasonably at $0.99/£0.59, and the game play is extremely simple, just draw a line with your finger from each player to its runway, each plane is colour coded, e.g red plane goes to red runway. The aim of the game is to land as much planes as possible without any mid-air collisions, after the first mid-air collision, the game ends and you have to start again. You have the option to fly solo or with a friend, online via Game Centre, over a wifi network or through Bluetooth. The game features 10 aircraft to be used on 5 different airfields. The iPod/iPhone has been rated 4/5 stars out of 49,450 reviews. Moving on now to the iPad version of the game, the game comes at a slightly overpriced cost of $4.99/£2.99 but it is very addictive. The game play itself is the same as the iPod/iPhone version, with the aim of the game unchanged. Flight Control HD features 10 airfields instead of the 5 from the iPod/iPhone version. The iPad version comes with one additional map, three "HD" maps and a 3D map, which requires 3D goggles for the full experience. Flight Control HD also houses the ability to have two players on one device, thanks the the iPad's large screen. The iPad version is rated 4 and a half stars out of 5, thanks to 5,141 customer reviews. Pros: Easy to use Simple Addictive Cons: iPad version overpriced Some bugs not fixed
Game of the day 4th March 2011 - Rat on a Skateboard (iPod/iPhone/Ipad)
by DangerousDerek on Comments
Rat on a Skateboard is a great little game. Produced by Donut Games, the most recent update of the game was released on the 3rd December last year. Anyone who has played a Donut Games release before will understand their style; simple mechanics, colourful artwork and insanely addictive game play. The aim of the game is very simple, the player must navigate the rat through either two sets of "endless random levels", one where the player must dodge basketballs, the other must dodge bananas, or through 30 sets of challenge levels. Whilst playing in each level, the player must control the rat by pressing the screen, each time the player presses the screen, the rat will jump in the air, simple right? Whilst in the air the player can press the screen up to four more times, each time he presses it the rat will do a trick, earning the player more points. There are also random power-ups in each level. The game will keep you playing for hours, and it's very easy to understand so it's perfect for all ages. It costs £0.59/$0.99 depending on your location. The game has averaged a four and a half star rating between 1,283 customer ratings. Pros: Addictive Colourful Simple Suitable for all ages Only available on iDevices (iPod Touch, iPhones, iPad) Cons: I would argue that it isn't worth its price, maybe if it had a few different game modes, but not now.
