[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="wirey87"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"] Well, then, you're just wrong. At least if you were uninformed then you had an excuse. I think TC is right, I was there when the very frist FPS's came out and been playing them ever since. why deny it? since Fps's made their way to the consoles, they just became something you can play blindfold. which is a natural thing, since this genre used to be restricted to adults, while now I believe there are more teens than adults that play them. I don't think you can play Halo or Killzone or BC2 blindfolded. People tend to confuse "Call of Duty" with "FPS genre," and they're not the same thing. agree completely, Halo, Killzone and Battlefield are much more "hardcore" games if you will, completely different from Call of Duty
I think it's the simplicity, with games such as Call of Duty, a gamer can turn on their console, and be playing online with very little effort in under 5 minutes, they can also leave the game when they choose without losing anything major, and also the fact that most people play shooters these days, so the social aspect does come into it aswell
