Maybe I'm used to it having played and beaten the story of the game several months back...but I have to go with the Dinklebot.
DanielL5583's forum posts
They're a great way to attract interest in a game that would otherwise not be as widely appealing, like Earthbound.
They also give us an insight into how the Let's Player plays the game, and in turn you could work what tactics they use into how you play...assuming they're viable, of course.
Although, I understand why one would say "I'd rather play the game than watch someone else do it", but at the same time, what's the likelihood of you play a game that you've not seen before yet has been covered by a widely known Let's Player?
Heck, I've done Let's Plays. They're nothing special, I must admit, and honestly I kinda wish I did them not only differently but also tried to keep some up...but what I've done, I enjoyed.
Am I the only one that thinks the blacklist for certain words in comments is broken beyond repair?
For example, one cannot write the name of the actor who portrayed the Joker in Tim Burton's Batman. And one cannot proclaim victory by saying they 'defeated' or 'beaten' a game.
Whenever you write a comment that has a blacklisted word, your comment ends up in Pending purgatory, which you can't get out of without copying your comment, making a new one, and removing the potentially-"offending" words out of the comment.
Sorry, but the system really needs an overhaul, as it makes it practically impossible for certain legitimate comments to be made. I understand why the system is in place, so as to reduce the amount of profanity on the site, but the result is very much not up to scratch.
All of the big gaming PCs I own are made for the job.
I have a desktop that I built myself along with a friend (that was a fun ride, let me tell you...) which, ever since I built it over 2 and a half years ago, has only had a graphics card change, new and increased storage, and something so I can use USB devices on the front of the system.
I also have a laptop - a Gigabyte P15F V2. Had it two months now, and it's my primary system until I garner the money to upgrade my desktop rig (the components of which I've more or less decided on, though six months will pass before the upgrade happens...maybe the GTX 980 Ti will be a thing by then).
That being said, I still game a lot on consoles. I'm primarily a Sony console gamer, as my PS2, PS3 and PS4 are used pretty regularly. A lot of what I do on my laptop and desktop is more work than games, honestly. Though, it doesn't stop me from the odd game of Civ V now and again.
Now, that's a problem, because I can't remember which games I actually reviewed.
However, I know I reviewed Final Fantasy VI (SNES), Super Metroid (SNES), System Shock 2 (PC), Metroid Prime (GC) and a few others whose names I have forgotten.
It would suck if I lost all of them...like, royally suck.
[QUOTE="DanielL5583"][QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]tell that to david carridine.

By that, I meant with your hands. He was found naked hanging from a rope.
You'll cut off your oxygen supply and pass out at worst. You can't kill yourself without using more than just your hands.
I suspect you could do it by arranging your body in such a way that your own weight did the work for you...Oh, sure. 'Twould be most easy if you were a contortionist.
Otherwise, you'd probably break your neck or something to that effect, which could possibly kill you in some other way.
