Far Cry 2

Its been a good month since I got Far Cry 2 and I've not been playing anything else since. When the game come out it got alot of negative feed back from people who didn't like certain aspects of the game, and I have to admit at first, I was one of them.

They're alot of things wrong with Far Cry 2 like the fact everybody in the game is trying to hunt you down. I don't know if Ubi-Soft meant it to be that way because they wanted to represent a War Zone in Africa (hence no civialians) or weather they wanted you to take your time, scout out all the guardposts or take another way into the wilderness around them. Other things about the game arn't too good either like the fact the story is some what not present at times, this is one thing Gamespot heavily critisied the game for. However I think the story plays out well in the end, I like how its, its own game, they're is no beginning or end to this story its all about this one war in Africa. That and the fact multiplayer online needs alot of improvements.

But the big apeal to me with this game and the one thing I think Ubi have done a good job with is the gameplay. I've never played a game that gives you so much freedom in how you go about each mission. I love sleeping until nightfall, driving to the location, turning off the jeeps headlights just before I get there, hiding my jeep out of sight in some trees, scopping out the area with my monoscope and excuting all guards I can see with the Dart Rifle, shooting and relocating so they never know exactly where I am and finishing the rest of with the silenced pistol or a knife in the back. The world in Far Cry 2 is truley amazing and the gameplay is a unique experience which is why I eurge people to play for more than half an hour if they want to get into this game.

New November

This years gone so fast, but thinking back at it so much has happened. Manchester United won the double, Playstation 3 got the big update some big releases shock the world of gaming and much more. Which other year can you remember Grand Theft Auto 4, Metal Gear Solid 4 and LittleBigPlanet all making such an impact on the games industry as they did. Although I haven't got LittleBigPlanet yet the other two were fantastic games and I thoughly enjoyed them. Which brings me to my problem.

Since the trophy patch came out for PS3, Theres something inside me that just needs to get as many trophys as possible, upto the point where i'm buying games I wouldn't normally buy just for trophys and thats not right. I don't want to want trophys but its such a rewarding feeling to get them. I love the little noise and the trophy sign coming up whenever you get something new. Developers should realise how much more games they could sell just by patching it with trophys too. So far I have a few new games I bought because I liked the games. Far Cry 2, which had a mixed feeling from me at first, but it has grown on me, even if I was annoyed that getting 100% platinum is impossible. Dead Space, which I didn't play for a week after getting it, but it looks a good expierence, ill play it after i'm done with a few other games. Silent Hill Homecoming, I'm a big fan of the games, played this quite far into it, it was addictive until I got stuck and I've not seemed to touch it since.

But I'm afraid all these games will have to wait. Theres something inside me, like every few months that go by, that just makes me wanna play Final Fantasy 7 and 8 all over again, so I will. :)

Bioshock Platinum

After 3 days of playing I finally got all the trophies for Bioshock. Its one of the best lot of achivements I can remember. Firstly I completed it on easy and most of the gritty trophies out the way. Then followed a walkthrough on the internet while I played it on Survivor mode, collecting all audio diarys and little sisters along the way.

Thats two platinums now and hopefully by next week another from Dead Space. I'll review Bioshock very soon. Although I still have a brand new Silent Hill Homecoming.

Berbatov, Ronaldo and Rooney

Three of the worlds best players. I want to write a blog with my thoughts on each of these players, not because I support Manchester United, I support Leicester City, But because these are players of pure class and role models for all footballers.

Berbatov

This man has been critised for being moody, not putting in 100% and not showing an over all amount of care for each match. But this is far from the truth. Dimitar came too the premier league and made a name for himself at Spurs, hes classy and calm and a very neat finisher, when I heard Man Utd was after him I was delighted. I saw an interview with him before a UEFA Cup match when he played for Spurs and the interview was so touching it changed the views I had about him. He learned to speak english by watching the Godfather films, his dad was also a professional footballer and he does have a deep love for the game everytime he plays. His goals are very classy but its his personality and his love for doing things the right way, doing things with a touch of gold that makes this lad special.

Here is an interview with a few goals from Berbatov:

Ronaldo

Ronaldo has passed anybodys check list and broke all boundrys when it comes to the game of football. His skill, scoring, power and overall ****makes him argubly the best player in the world. When we first signed him, almost no one had heard of this 18 year old from Portugal, he was given the number seven shirt worn by David Beckham before him. He start off and introduced tricks, flicks and skill to the premier league, alot of people say others have done so, but non more so than Cristiano Ronaldo. He a ****above the rest in the world right now, his free kicks are fearsome and his touch deadly. Although he appears some what arragant and his desire to some day leave Manchester United for Real Madrid. I can understand still. Everyone has a dream don't forget.

Here's a video of Ronaldo doing what he does best:

Rooney

Some would say hes not up there with the best players in the world. Some would say his temper lets him down or his inconsistent scoring stops his greatest. But its not his scoring that makes his guy one of the best footballers in the world today. Man Utd bought Rooney after he made an impressive start to his Everton career with a special goal against Arsenal and scored a hat trick for England. On his Man Utd debut he also scored a wonderful hat trick but its not these things that makes him so valuable. Its his over all work rate, he is a very different player to Berbatov up front, Rooney chases every ball like its the last time he'll get a chance to kick it whereas Berbatov is much more laid back. Rooney funs endlessly around the field, playmaking, passing, tackling and don't forget scoring. He's a fantastic player and I'm glad his British.

Here's Rooneys debut for Manchester United:

Little Update On Trophies

So I forgot to mention in my first blog that I'll also add a small part in my reviews about trophies and how they are, for example, are they easy? lenghty? feel rewarding and so on.

My trophies at the minute are: Uncharted 100%, BUZZ! Quiz TV 70%.

Also today I bought FIFA09, I am a hugh fan of the FIFA games and love it, cannot wait to review it. Cheers.

Hello Everyone

I'm Dan, I'm nineteen and I live in the middle of England. I don't go collage or uni, but I'm in part time work and love playing video games as a hobby, or more of an obsession, I'm not sure.

I like reviewing games which is one of the reason I joined this site, I'm quite fair and non bias in my reviews, I have quite a strick way to write a review. It involves the general review as with any, a section on the online part of the game, a section on how helpful/good the official walkthrough to the game was, if it had one and how well the game affects life outside and our world. The last part won't have much effect on the games overall score but I thought its nice to add so a reader can know about the impact the game had.

I'll be posting blogs reguarly with bits of my life, demo reviews, game previews and general info on anything really, much like a blogs for. I'll also be a regular user of the gamespot forums, mainly in the PS3 section but ill be around others as well, feel free to add me as a friend or say hi.

My ps3 usertag is: Danteinho. Feel free to add me as I'm always looking for new friends or people to play online with. I do love the Playstation brand, but I have nothing against anyother console that said. I also own an Xbox 360 for a few certain games. But the majority of my gaming will be with the PS3.

Cheers.
