I think it's safe to assume that this list is Old-Wizard's personal top 100 and not what he suggests should be everyone else's top 100. I was most intrigued by the placement of games in the Soul Blazer series. Most people usually pass over those, and I'm glad someone took notice.

Reiterating what Gamefan said, you might want to check out the "Tales of" series. They all definitely use Japanese style of art and characters, but the battles are real-time fighting as opposed to turn-based. They aren't really comparable to games like the Elder Scrolls Series or Fable, but you'll never know what you think unless you check one out.

I wish I had the kind of time and willpower some of you guys have. I'm proud to say that Day of the Tentacle is the only game I've beaten in one day. It was definitely one of best shortest games I've played.

In an approximate ranking. It's really kind of hard to compare some of them.

  1. Super Smash Bros. Melee
  2. Tales of Symphonia
  3. Baten Kaitos
  4. SSX Tricky
  5. SSX 3
  6. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
  7. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
  8. Mario Kart: Double Dash
  9. Viewtiful Joe
  10. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

Honorable Mention: Metroid Prime (I still need to finish it for some reason)

Most of the Mana games after Secret of Mana were a big disappointment to me. I'd easily place Secret of Mana second in my list of favorite Square games after Chrono Trigger. I just wish they could have recaptured its essence, but they keep failing over and over again.

Definitely Elder Scrolls V and another Chrono game, but those have already been said. The most important one is

PSYCHONAUTS!

The ending to that game would so easily branch into a sequel, and Tim Schafer is a genius.

If wi-fi doesn't work smoothly with it, there would be absolutely no point to getting the game. If they online play works well, they better make a heck of a lot of improvements over the online version, or else why waste the money?

I bought it a while ago when I saw it used somewhere for really cheap. I'm not exactly sure why I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Perhaps I'm just intimidated by how long people have said it can take. It's definitely on my "games to play" list.

I try not to, but sometimes I do if there's any difference between the games or if it doesn't cost much.  I only have a few doubles though.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64, Gamecube)
Final Fantasy VI (SNES, PS1)
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES, GBA)

I think there's just too broad of a range of people who play video games.  Yes, there are no-life adults who play video games constantly, and then there are those that just do it every once in a while because it's enjoyable and then everyone in between.  However, most games are targeted at people who still have plenty of time on their hands aka people who don't have to work to support their entire lifestyle aka kids through perhaps college students.  This just means that video games seem to the general public an all-or-none deal.  Either you play them a lot or don't play them at all, so it seems you must be a no-life adult, even when that's not the case.  Geez, I'm rambling.  I hope that made sense.
