The Island: Unofficial Movie Review

The Island: Unofficial Movie Review,

First off I am personally proud that this is the first movie I am reviewing.. I have a prescheduled plan of reviewing classics that have left their personal imprint on my movie history, and we'll get on to them later..

The Island: Unofficial Movie Review
=============================================================================================
Ah, The Island.. Luring with it's official trailer and beautiful images of the lovely Scarlett Johansson and Ewan McGregor and I have to say it was only truthful.. I wasn't as strong into the hype when it came out, I got my ticket like most movies worthy of the overpriced $7.25 and walked into what I thought was going to be a 'regular' summer blockbuster.. But on the current roster, and I feel a little foolish for both saying and going through with, but I've spent a good $21 some odd dollars seeing this movie a total of three times..
All three times I still must say worthy of my time, maybe not so money considering the prices here are already outrageous, but I award this movie best thus far Summer of '05..

Outside of my arrogant personal prospects of the movie, let's get to what's important.. Let's begin with the cast.. I've already mentioned the lovely Scarlett Johansson and Ewan McGregor, but a deeper cast follows that some may have overlooked.. It was good seeing Steve Buscemi in the film, after his impressive memorative role on Reservoir Dogs, and I must say performing well to his role in this film.. Sean Bean played the administrator of the institution in the film and is particularly remembered from his role as 006 in my favorite Bond film Goldeneye.. He's also done work in a POW movie, his role as Boromir in LOTR, Sophocles' in Troy, and doing what he does best at being himself he fits the villain role in National Treasure.. And I have to say he fits his villain ability superbly in this film..
Michael Clarke Duncan stepped into the cast with a short role large enough to put his mark in 'The Island' which I was happy to see and not disoppointed with.. I wish I could remember the fellow's name, but a minor cast member plays as one of Ewan McGregor's character's best friends, and his voice may be familiar as the voice of Rex from the Toy Story films, which I found interesting.. :D

Money Shot, Key to any great film is how the romantic story unfolds in my opinion.. So as the movie progressed, there was a wonderful unfolding of attaction between Scarlett Johannson and Ewan's characters, which flew into motion of the film's beauty, ultimately leading up to the climactic final struggle.. So, let's carry on..

Movie Body, Well.. At the time I first saw the film, it was a night showing, and walking into the plotline swept me out of the theater and into a story that truly proved spectacular.. Michael Bay, known for his work in Pearl Harbor and outstanding car chase sequences some of which he delivered in Bad Boys 2.. He does not fail to performance in this film, in fact, all of his highspeed sequences are very atriculate and to the point about getting a tiny detail in that makes for the experience of the whole thing.. He incorporated the actual feeling of air zooming around you, how things would sound plummiting at such a speed, driving at such a speed.. Also putting circulating motion of how rotation in a highspeed crash flies before your vision can catch it.. It was something really cool to see..

The only thing you really need to read in this review, I don't wanna ramble on with a movie that deserves a great review, but needs one done right, which I wouldn't particularly want to be me :D So let's get on with my personal decorations to this movie..
It has my stamp of approval that it will be worth your money to experience in theaters.. And gets my medal of Best Summer Movie of '05.. I recommend seeing this film if you haven't already, and if you have seen it, please leave a comment of your opinion, Good or bad, it's all about getting out to the people what is good or bad from our experience..

Thank you for baring through this unnecessarily long review.. :D
