Top 10 Albums of 2008: #8

Hey everyone. This blog post is a little bit over due, but some things have been happening lately. Nothing significant but it's just been enough to keep my attention toward a few other things. As of today, I'm kind of coming down with the flu. :( So that's a bummer, I don't really think I can miss school tomorrow but I'll try my best to keep on top of school work, among other things. Well, the other day I was rather annoyed: I accidently purchased Ocarina of Time on the Virtual Console. :| It IS one my favorite games, but I wanted to purchase Paper Mario. It was a stupid accident -- I was just curious as to how many blocks Ocarina of Time would take up, so I read about it then accidently downloaded it instead of backing out of the page. What a waste of $10.00 ... I think? Oh well, things could be worse. :P I guess it'll be nice to have for collector's purposes anyway.

#8. Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded -- Rihanna

GG

I know that the original version of this album released in 2007; however, I didn't happen to pick that version up and I ended up with this 2008 release instead. All in all, I found that the album was a good one and it's understandable why the singles received some wide spread attention amongst listeners across the world. I personally never thought I would be into Rihanna or this album, but the more I listened to it and heard about it, I just had to pick it up. I was in fact happy with my decision to have this album and found that this is a great package for anyone looking for some great pop and R&B music. The album has a number of songs that I do not care for: quite simply, I do not like rap music in the slightest sense, so a number of songs with hints of that genre are an immedate turn off for me. Despite that, the album presents the same number of dance hits and ballads that the 2007 original made so popular, as well as some great content that justifies the deluxe edition so well. The album has some great production values, Rihanna has beautiful vocals, and the album is just a smooth and great album that I would recommend to anyone interested in this genre. (And by the way, this is the UK Edition of the album cover, I happen to like it a bit better).

Recommended Songs:

  • Umbrella (Ft. Jay-Z)
  • Don't Stop The Music
  • Shut Up And Drive
  • Hate That I Love You (Ft. Ne-Yo)
  • Take A Bow
  • Disturbia
  • If I Never See Your Face Again (Ft. Maroon 5)
