First off I'd like to say that it isn't. It is a great game. But I think its a tad bit overrated. I think that its because it was the first real mainstream FF RPG. not to mention that it had 7 at the end of its name with would give first time FF players a "wow 7 game series, this must be amazing" impression, giving them a biased opinion of the game.I am by no means ripping on FFVII. I love this game. But I dont think it deserves all the hype. And FF Tactics was not a ploy to milk the franchise. Even if it was, it was a well thought out ploy to milk the franchise with Excellent Gameplay, Awesome Story, and Great Characters.

P.S. Cloud's Buster Sword is awesome. I wish I was a spikey haired Warrior
