Well, I watched nearly 3 hours of After Hours after stating that I would watch only a bit and if it weren't for the fact that I had to go to church early in the morning, I would have stayed up for most of the whole thing but what I seen I enjoyed.
I didn't really watch anything besides the main stage and the confession cam although I peeked at the homer cam when he wasn't on the main one. The Confessions cam was probably my favourite just to hear some people confess about some of the games they like, the games they got addicted to and what was the hardest game they finished and I really hope they have some sort of highlight package of it to show the best ones because it was good.
Also, I am really looking forward to Guitar Hero 2 now after the demo that was on first because judging by the songs, it looks set to be even harder than the first one and the experts in the first game may well have their work cut out in this one but we will wee. I am still pumped for Bioshock also, as that game looks fantastic and really hope when it comes out, it is a nice lasting time instead of the usual 8-12 hour blast through your standard FPS and would have to check out System Shock 2 sometime just to see what the developers of this game are all about.
Anyway, since I enjoyed the confession cam, I decided that I will answer some of the questions that I can remember from it just so you can get an idea about me.
Q1. What was the earliest game you played?
A: I vaguely remember it was probably an Atari 2600 game as I recall having one of them but I definitely know that I played the NES with Super Mario Bros, Zelda and Bubble Bobble among other NES classics.
Q2. What is the hardest game you have finished?
A: Well, I have played some easy games and some hard games over the past 15, 16 year but two games that come to mind that were quite challenging for me were Ninja Gaiden Black as I know that people say it is one of the more recent hardest games to beat. The other one is God of War in God Mode and it is the first time I ever beat a game in its highest difficulty but it was because I loved God of War and wanted to try it and after a lot of deaths, I did it in the end so those will be the two.
Q3. Did you do anything crazy to get your hands on a game like ditching school or waiting in line?
A: Fortunately, I have to say no I never did anything like that. The only thing that would somewhat be the best I can come up with was just getting up early to go down to the town centre to get Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and there was a bit of a line at the time with all the people getting their copies/pre-orders of the game and I actually went with a friend of mine but since he was under-age, he couldn't get his copy of it at that store so we just went to another store and he gave me the money then to get it for him. Also, I traded in 3 games to get GTA and the guide cheaper.
Q4. Was there any game that you were really looking forward to that you played but ended not liking or somewhat felt disappointed?
A. Zelda: The Wind Waker comes to mind for this one. I thought it was a great game though but to me, it just felt a bit on the short side if you didn't do anything else in it like there were 3 dungeons, then you get the master sword, then another 2 then the whole triforce shards crap and finally Ganon's palace and I think I finished it in several days so I just felt disappointed by it. T.H.U.G would probably be another disappointment as the older Tony Hawk games are a lot better than the ones out today and my favourite one of them would be 4. I
In terms of consoles and that the PSP is a disappointment to me since I just seem to hardly play it and the lack of games that I would like to play for it and good part of the PSP catalogue are somewhat ports of games like Wipeout, Dragonball Z and Tekken.
Q5. What has been the most you spent on a game or a console?
A. Well, it if were me now, then it would probably be the Nintendo DS with 3 games that I got for £145 when it was only out in the UK and I was only interested in 2 of them anyway. Other than that, it has been relatives and my parents that got me consoles for Christmas and birthdays etc but I sort of spend my money nowadays on games and saving up for the Nintendo Wii.
Q6. What are the games that you got addicted to?
A: Oblivion would definitely be one that comes to mind recently since I played over 150 hours or so maybe less on that game and to tell you the truth, I actually haven't played it in a while now and only come back to play it for around a hour or so and yet I have the game now for 6 months and still didn't get all the achievement points for it.
Kingdom Hearts 2 would be another example in terms of recent games since I wanted to get all the requirements in Jiminy's Journal and played that game for a good 5-10 hours each day for over a week just to finish all the stuff and get the secret ending the long and tedious way rather than just finishing it in proud mode.
Q7. What consoles do you own?
A: Well I have the courtesy to owning 13 consoles overall and that will be 14 come December with the release of the Wii. That is 9 home consoles and 4 handheld consoles. It would have been 16 if I still had my Mega Drive/Genesis and my NES. Anyway, they are the SNES, N64, Gamecube, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PSP, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, DS, Xbox, Xbox 360.
Q8. What will be your next purchase in terms of games and consoles?
A: The next console will definitely be the Wii since I have no interest in getting the PS3 when it comes out here in March 2007 until at least a year or 2 and when the price goes down. In terms of games, there will be a few in the upcoming months that I have my eyes on and they are Gears of War, WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2007, Guitar Hero 2, Zelda: Twlight Princess, possibly Canis Canem Edit aka Bully and probably some other games.
Q9. What is your favourite game of all time?
A: This is a really tough question to answer because you cannot really pick the one game as you have several games that you really love and consider your favourite games ever. If I had to pick one now, then it would probably be Super Mario World because I instantly loved that game the first time I played it over 10 years ago and the main reason why I had to get a SNES of my own at the time and even though I never got it until a few years later, I still remember it fondly and it is a game that you can come back to every now and again and people still deem it to be one of the greatest games of all time and the best platformer of all time and you can't go wrong with that.
So anyway, I am dragging this on so hopefully you enjoyed this interesting text blog I did here and once again, thanks for reading and if you would like questions to be answered then post them to me by pming me or put them in the comments section so I can answer them in my next video blog and also, I would very much like questions on Kingdom Hearts 2 for my video review I will likely to be doing this week so I can say more things about it rather than the usual graphics, sound gameplay stuff.
Anyway, that is me for now and until next time, ROCK ON!
