Fatherhood

Thinking back on '06 - '07 the bigest change my life has gone through is deffinitly becoming a father. I got married toward the end of '06 and I had gotten my fiance pregnant earlier that year, in fact she had the baby in July, and I couldn't have been happier. I can't wait untill my little girl is old enough ot play some video games with daddy.

Graphics v. Gameplay

Am I the only one who gets fed up with the folks who polarize themselves in teh graphics/gameplay debate? While I do agree with points on both sides of the arguement, it's deffinitly not a black and white issue. To me, a good game does one of two things, brings you closer to your family or friends, or gives you something that you would personaly qualify 'an experience'. i am playing one of each at the moment, Rock Band and Assassin's Creed. Rock Band has given me and my wife a game that we can play together, and both get an equal ammount of entertainment from. Now those of you familiar with this game should know that the graphics arent the best, but that dosent stop it from being an awesomely fun game. Assassin's creed on the other hand has some of the most stunning graphics i've seen in a game to date, plus the attention to detail, superb story-telling, and freakin' sweet gameplay push it verry high on my personal favorite list. Then there are games like Lair that although beautifull to look at, are what i call "broken", just a terrible game to play, period. Another mantion is the game that while having a great story, but dated graphics, becomes hard to play, though this is usualy more the ravages of time than anything, as i can't think of any recent titles that fit the description. I guess in the end though, the masses will usualy go for a game that look spretty than one with a nice personality. I think I'm done ranting for now.
